Bet the Lakers don't want to play Pau at center come playoffs.

Bet Denver doesn't want an injured center clogging their cap.

Bet Denver does not want to give Melo to the Lakers.

Bet this never happens.

If these talks are in fact rue, and Denver is considering, Donnie has to improve his offer my including Fields. Melo would def. sign with LA and then we are back to hoping for another FA splash in 2012 and banking on the future to help us.

This sucks. **** you LA and especially you Denver. Go blow a f*cking goat.

I think we found Isiah's account

Why does Denver do it?

Small ball! Maybe we can send the Lakers Mike D'Antoni and they can trade us an aging Phil.

I am not sure I get your answer.

The confidence in the board is giving me nightmares of the weeks leading up to "The Decision". We all (including myself) we're so confident LeBron was coming, and summarily dismissed all other possibilities.

Yes, Carmelo said he only wants New York, but I wouldn't just dismiss this rumor. Bynum, while an injury risk, is the best young center in the league (after Howard). These guys don't come around often. Also, Kobe is slowing down and (to me) its pretty clear he could use some help. Lakers needs a star after Kobe, and they're arguably the best run franchise in NBA history. I wouldn't dismiss them as a threat.

We were all so confident LeBron would NEVER go to the heat... it would tarnish his legacy... blah blah blah. Well we were all REALLY wrong on that... REALLLYYYY WRONG

Lets just hope Melo doesn't want LA... LA is the ony city, the one franchise, I could see changing Melo's mind. Sunny, Glamourous, heck, his wife can continue her showbiz career there too. I'm making myself sick.

With that said, im still optimistic! But nothign is a given yet... the next 2 weeks could get rocky.

I am significantly more interested in Dolan's involvement than I am over some BS Laker rumor.

I actually think Melo would resign with LA.

But that's not the issue. The part that I don't see happening is Denver agreeing to trade for Bynum, who makes $14-15M and has awful knees for a 23-yr old.

Would you pay Bynum 15 mill a year if he was a FA last summer?

we were confidant because we werent emotionally invested in the decision. LeBron was. Cuban said it himself. He sold his brand short by 1 billion.

That's why we thought he'd come here. He could play next to Amare, run d'antoni's do whatever u want offense, and have a good supporting cast that could be resigned longterm (gallo/wilson).

If the Lakers get Melo, we can start the Dwigt Howard thread.

The reason I'm so confident is because the Lakers have no reason to trade for Melo...it makes no sense - they have Kobe, their size gives them an advantage every night (even though they are not taking advantage of that now), they already have Artest at SF (who will be hard to trade), and come on...do you really think Kobe is going to be OK with the team bringing in another YOUNG superstar to HIS team? Kobe has too much pride for that. Add that to the fact that we can STILL offer a better package than the Lakers = no reason to be worried.

Then there's this...one of my dad's patients works in the Knicks front office and says that the team is "certain" Carmelo will be a Knick by opening night next year. --> that's ace in the hole.

Despite Bynum's injury issues, the only team he is worth 15 mill for is the Lakers. That three-headed monster of Gasol/Bynum/Odom is what makes them dangerous and unique from other teams with a superstar.
