Interest in Aaron Brooks?

Post#1 » by dsmith9690 » Tue Feb 8, 2011 5:27 pm

http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/20 ... on-brooks/

I would much be interested in grabbing a big man before the deadline but I would not complain about A Brooks. He has shown he can be a very good ball player in recent years

Thoughts?

Nope.

I'd personally rather continue to invest time into DJ.

We wouldn't get much value out of him, he'd be back up to dj.

On the bench, taking Livingston's minutes. He'd probably only get like 15 a game. Whatever we had to give up to get him would be better off staying.

here's my brooks trade - i rarely make trade proposals since you never ever get all sides happy but this is best i can think of...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4robfz5

cha in: battier, landry, jeffries
cha out: wallace, diop

hou in: wallace, casspi, diop
hout out: brooks, jefferies, battier

sac in: brooks
sac out: landry, casspi

for charlotte: get rid of extra year of salary for wallace and diop. battier can fill in for wallace and landry can fill in for thomas while he is out.

for sac: get rid of landry who will leave this summer regardless and get back brooks who would make great pair with evans. cost of getting deal done is losing casspi.

for hou: get wallace who is upgrade to battier and fits in well with scola and martin to be 3rd scoring option. get casspi who is upgrade to budinger. cost of upgrading is taking on diop's salary, who might help as backup once yao is gone next season.

I'd rather have TWill over Battier.

battier worked moneywise... only has this year left on deal. twill has to be done in separate trade (too much work).

plus, i am in the minority here and think battier is the superior player and would fit our current team which loves good defense and could use a guy who can make corner 3s.

I agree and I'm not a fan of T-Will. Plus, him on this team would mean less minutes for Hendo. and that's a no go.

We don't really have a viable back up at the SF position - so Hendo could continue to back up the 2 spot and T.Will the 3 spot.

why would t-will mean less minutes for Hendo? He's inactive most nights... with wallace gone there'd be an increase in minutes for other wings.
oh, and Kings overpay for Brooks (who's also doesn't really fit well, but that's another story)
