So what happens if the T-Wolves win the lottery?
Do you think Kahn will draft Kyrie Irving and trade the rights to Rubio? Or would he take the next best player available, with hopes to have Rubio come over and play?
By the way I hate what Rubio is doing to your organization.
But if you were to draft Irving and land another young stud via Rubio's rights I would think your team would really take the next step towards winning.

you ask good questions, there is a draft thread around here someplace on the second page most likely, and a series of threads on Rube on the first page of threads. I'm on my mobile so I can't link, but shouldn't have to go more than a page deep

I think hell might freeze over.
Also, Rubio hasn't said anything up to this point. He has no leverage in the situation so even if the reports are true they don't really mean much.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Irving pry won't come out anyway. I'd entertain trade offers for it, if Irving did come out then I'd take him and let them play together and see what happens. Irving is about 6'2, and Rubio is 6'4 so they both have great size to play together in some matchups.

Trade it for proven All-Star talent...(cough Chris Pa...cough).

It's hard to predict what Kahn would do. He talks a lot about value, but has made selections based on fit as well (wes johnson).
If it were me, I'd simply take the BPA. If that's anther PG, so be it. Then, entertain trade offers for both of the young point guards and go with what makes sense. If you get low-ball offers, roll with both and see what happens. I don't think the team would part with either until they were sure they weren't giving up a potential superstar.

I don't see what makes Irving the hands down #1 pick, that seems beyond ridiculous to me. I guess nobody else but me has noticed yet that he put up 17/5 against unknown teams for 8 games, then got injured for the next 2 months

If you find yourself alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and are already dead!

They might pass on Irving and draft the highest rated Power Forward instead.

Who is this year's Kevin Love/Aminu? I think we've learned not to doubt you too strongly.

He isn't, but the only other guys really in the conversation are Perry Jones (another Forward) and Sullinger (Forward and terrible fit).
Irving is the only one in the conversation that fits the team at all, he didn't just put up good numbers against unknown teams (17,5,6 vs Kansas St, 31,6,4 vs Michigan St, and 21,2,2 vs Butler), he was definitely the best player on an absolutely stacked Duke team that won it all the year before, and the team has been no where near as good without him.

I'm pretty sure that would be illegal since he's a true freshman.

Well it's pretty cold in Minny right? So that's half the battle!
Any chance you might trade down?
Also from the comment Love has made earlier in the year where he wants to win now. Wouldn't drafting Irving to play next to Rubio for a season to see what you have be flirting with running the risk of losing Love to free agency?
By the way I have no interest in Rubio I think the dude is a tool. I'm just curious about your teams situation. Kahn intrigues me.
I kind of get the feeling that Kahns walls are decorated with stuff that he threw on them and it just stuck.

I don't see any eye popping franchise changing players this year. I have a feeling this will be like the 2000 draft or worse. All I see are solid players, we need that superstar.

Definitely didn't word that very well, did I? An absolutely stacked Duke team that had won it all the year before, maybe? I'm not sure if that's better or not.
Edit:

From what I've seen, Irving looks like he could be a franchise player, but his injury is very worrying and 17 games isn't much of a sample size, and Perry Jones has the potential to be a franchise guy, but he could just as easily be Anthony Randolph.

If I'm Kahn I take Irving and trade Rubio for Perry Jones or the highest bidder.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt
