I think Gallo might have stuck it Smith's girlfriend, theres really no legit reason for him to hate on the Cock as much as he is. Not to mention being isiah's lapdog. But I must admit innocently bugged out, balmy people who are completely and arrogantly believe they are right do entertain me very much. Its a interesting spectacle more than a credible reverence imo is what makes it fun.

Boy, what a difference a few years makes in humbling someone. Rememeber when Stephen A. Smith was the flavor du jour with Quite Frankly, etc. Then as his show was canceled, time slot was moved around, ESPN wanted to re-negotiate his contract. Stephen balked...and ESPN moved on. He was brought in freelance on occasion and did some work for FOX sports but fact, is sports journalism is an over saturated business.

Man, did he gush and give praise and thanks to the people who got him a pay check.

His time slot at 7pm kind of says a lot of where his popularity is, because Knick games will overlap and he'll have some days off...

Still, I am glad he's back even though his sports knowledge outside of hoops is dreadful, his insider info is skeptical...but he makes Broussard look like a school boy.

As for Donnie basketball...YES, I totally believed all this time that he's sitting on his ass waiting for Denver to come to his terms. When he was with Indy they NEVER made any huge moves. If not for Reggie's theatrics, the Pacers were nothing special....NEVER making any real waves despite One Finals appearance where they were humbled.

But I also don't believe at all that Denver and the Lakers are serious. It's a ruse to push NY to give up MORE...

he said that about gallo and melo in reference to the caller being all "but but but, I want to keep gallo because.... he's grown before our very eyes and a product of our team [and therefore shouldn't be traded for Melo]" .. to which he responded saying, ''well.... I can say the same thing about Melo, where's he originally from? and where's gallo originally from...'' .. valid point on his part.

Anyone feel Michael Kay and his entourage had something to do with Stephen A. Smith losing his radio show back when they had that little war?

there's not even a 0.0000001% of logical validity of what smith said ... a player can be born from transylvania for all i care, that doesn't increase or decrease his value to the teams success now and moving forward.

that fool just doesn't like gallinari and it was evident on draft night.

haha I think anyone would agree with that.. I think he was just playing devils advocate to the caller thinking Gallo being a homegrown knick somehow makes him less expendable for a talent that in every way is better.

This is a good thing, as Knicks fans we WANT the trade, and Melo, on our terms.

id rather have Donnie here sitting on his hands (which I think hes doing) then Isiah dismantling the franchise

WAKE UP DONNIE

I appreciate what Donnie has done for us but he isn't immune....if LA or Dallas swoops in and somehow gets an extended Melo, I think it would be time for Walsh to get the hell out.

I agree. It's never been Melo or bust, and we very well could sign a Williams or Howard down the road if this didn't happen.... but for the circumstances to be where they are now, if Melo isn't on our team by deadline or by summer you'd have to look at Donnie to blame....

1) So what?

2) Did you even listen to the phone call? The guy was talking about home grown talent. SAS asked if the guy actually cared about home grown talent. Then he wrapped it up by saying 'fine, if you really care so much, Gallinari is from Italy and Melo is from NY. What's more homegrown?' Obviously not like that, but that's the meaning.

Right it's all Donnie's fault if Denver asks for the moon and force the Knicks to gut the team for a Melo deal to happen.

Pretty amazing how if ONE journalist says something that is pure speculation...the network backs it up as TRUTH....

This bull Stephen A. pulled about "a source close to Melo acknowledges that he is PISSED at the Knicks..." is REPEATED on Mike & Mike. C'mon...STOP IT.

Oh btw Mike Greenberg is such a HOMER for the Bulls cause he covered them during MJ's years...this doesn't surprise me. Make him wear another Pats jersey please.

Ugh, don't fall into the Screaming A trap....

If it wasn't for Donnie we wouldn't even be in a position to get Melo and would probably still be a lotto team.

That is a very true point. Patience is the key. There is no need to give up half the starting unit for Melo. If Melo does not come to NY there are other alternatives which would help the team such as Howard, DWill or CP3.

True and like any other rational Knicks fan I want Melo to come here with an effective(affective?) surrounding cast(i.e. keeping 2/3 young bucks), but I'm getting tired of the "alternatives" thing because we can't keep waiting for that.
