GT: Spurs vs. Pistons

When: 7:30 PM ET, February 8, 2011
Where: The Palace of Auburn Hills, Detroit, MI

Starting Lineups:

Spurs:
PG - Tony Parker
SG - Manu Ginobli
SF - Richard Jefferson
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Dejuan Blair

Pistons:
PG - Ben Gordon
SG - Tracy McGrady
SF - Tayshaun Prince
PF - Greg Monroe
C - Ben Wallace

Well we should be well rested and ready for the fourth game of the rodeo road against the Pistons. The key to winning this one is going to be stoping Greg Monroe and Ben Gordon. Since being put into the starting lineup Monroe has been putting up some big numbers and causing tons of trouble for opposing teams in the paint. We have to keep him out the paint and keep him off the boards. Gordon is a streaky scorer and we can't let him get going, if he gets hot he could burn us.

It looks like Rodney Stuckey will miss this game for the Pistons with a shoulder injury.

Go Spurs!!

Ho-hum game. Monroe is a pretty decent player from the looks of it. Blair had a nice game, so did TP.

3-1 on the road trip. Nice.

Blair had another great game last night. He's been the key to our success on the road trip so far.

I am a fan of Tmac. I like how aggresive he was early in the game posting Jefferson up and even slashing to the basket. He's not the young Tmac anymore, but he's still one of my favorite players to watch. I've been tuning in on some Pistons games this season since Tmac was inserted into the starting lineup as a PG. He's a hell of a player in my eyes. Ben Wallace and Tmac are two players I'd like to see in San Antonio. I think Tmac has the size, shooting, and passing to play SF for us especially as an 18 minute backup type. Ben Wallace is still a very good defensive player if they use him in a more limited minutes.

I'd never want McGrady on this team. Never been a fan of his game. He's a career loser, the type who gets numbers but it doesn't translate to his teams winning.

Was he supposed to win with Grant Hill injured in Orlando and with Yao Ming injured whenever he's healthy?

I don't view him as a loser. I do view him as injury prone and at this point, isn't likely to become what he was. But as a player, I was a fan of watching Tmac plays when we all hated and didn't respect Kobe yet.

I'd love Ben Wallace on this team - he'd help us out tremendously as another big with experience and good defensive ability.

We should get another big, regardless.

I see nothing with Big Ben's game that suggests he's still an elite defensive player. Heck, at this point I'd call him barely passable. He has no offensive game at all now, and it was limited during his prime anyway. I'd keep McDyess over Wallace at this point in their careers, not even close.
