Gerald McCoy
Arrelious Benn
Mike Williams
Cody Grimm
Dekoda Watson
Ted Larsen
LeGarrett Blount

I could see half of those guys being pro-bowlers in the near future.

I love what Ted did, and he'd be 2nd on my list. But Dominic deserved the award.

I forgot about Benn, he looks like he has a ton of talent though too.

Who are Grimm, Watson and Larsen?

Most sportswriters didn't even know who Sam Shields or James Starks were by the end of the regular season, and if they did, they thought they were lucky flashes in the pan.

By the time the playoffs moved on they had already made up their minds and probably assumed Shields was a 4 year veteran.

Look at Raji. He was mediocre as a rookie and blew up this year. Sitton played well last year, but this season become a Pro Bowl caliber guard. Tramon Williams didn't become a great player until this year. Finley did nothing as a rookie. Rodgers sat on the bench for three years, but in retrospect, no GM in football had a better offseason than Ted in 2005 by him simply picking Rodgers.

My guess is the same with Tampa. Players drafted by them over the last 2-3 years got some experience and combined with the additions in the draft last year helped turn around the franchise to where they could win 10 games.

It's a tough award to judge, which is why I'm not going to argue it much.

I just thought it was hilarious to try and say Tampa's GM didn't do a great job. That guy had an excellent year as a GM I thought. There were about 3-4 guys I knew about that I thought could become studs and apparently they got an even bigger haul than I thought now that DB chimed in.

I certainly see why people would get upset when their guy loses because of sustained excellence as opposed to improving from being bad to good.

Overall though, I don't really get bent out of shape about the awards. If you want to vote on who the best executives in the NFL are? Then I'd say BB and TT. But that isn't what they vote on... It's a year by year thing.

Who cares,we got the Lombardi.

At the end of the day/season that's all the matters.

Yep

I question if Ted even knows that he didn't win and if someone did inform him, my guess is he let out a big yawn.

Not sure why guys are at each others throats...for god's sake, we WON THE SUPER BOWL! Can't we all just get along?

I thought Tampa was a fluke, but as the season wore on, you could tell that they were coming into their own as a pretty decent football team. They sort of mirrored the Bears, in that regard. Josh Freeman is a damn good QB and they're only going to get better. I think they'll win that division next year.

ATL's GM shouldn't have won the award and Thompson should've been in the top 3. But I think Tampa's GM should've won the award as well.

I am assuming this vote was before the playoffs. Right?

As others noted, this award is based on expected regular season wins versus actual wins.

Besides, Hammond won this for the Bucks last year. Same concept.
