It'll be interesting to see how serious Melo is about staying with Denver.

It could be a shift blame thing or it could be a mindset that he would rather have security than free agency. Who knows.

This could certainly throw a monkey wrench into things and add another level of chess playing. Denver would obviously prefer to at least have him under contract and then trade him where they want to trade him. And would Denver allow him to pass on the extension and then let the deadline pass? Or will they demand a signature before the deadline?

All comes down to how much they believe Melo and trust him. But he definitely seems to be "reachable" on the idea that he's leaving too much money on the table -- even though that notion is FALSE lol!

But he seems like he might definitely cave and give in -- he doesn't seem to be that well informed about the notion that he's highly unlikely to get killed on the new CBA.

You gonna tell us if you have sources or you're rehashing what someone said on a message board?

I shouldn't even have posted this because it could really f*ck up the trade.

But if he isn't garnering that much interest now, why would he get that much more interest on the Free Agent market as a RFA? OKC would be better of just going into the offseason and taking they're chances that teams lowball him ala David Lee and maybe they can bring him back on a one year deal or at a cheaper price.

So Denver would get a combo of Chandler, Green, Brewer and a pick?

but what else would OKC get? I just don't think Turiaf + 1st round pick is enough

We better get some serious size back. Moz and Stat are the only PF/C left on the team after those trades if you ship out Turiaf, AR and Curry.

In D'Antoni land Gallo and Melo are PFs. Amare and Moz are Cs. Shawne Williams is the swing man playing SG-C. -Jitpal

they might be worried about luxury tax and want to renounce him so his cap hold wont count towards it. just speculation, they certainly have options though, looks like the guy made this ish up anyways lol

Spin theories all day long if it makes you happy, but this ultimately comes down to Melo getting paid. Everything else is totally secondary and that includes his desire to play in NYC.

Amen. This entire affair is turning my stomach.

I am going to say that we are going to be at part 23 before this is all said and done. We blew through part 15 in a day and a half and we may even get as high as 25.

Hey lottery bound since you know people, can you tell us if Aaron brooks is on the table and what would it take to acquire him? will a 1st round pick do the trick? and you could float this idea to your sources and maybe it will get back to top decision makers in the Knicks organization

ok here it is, my 5-way trade

Knicks get: Carmelo
Knicks trade: Eddy Curry, Wilson Chandler, Anthony Randolph, Ronny Turiaf

Minnesota gets: Anthony Randolph
Minnesota trades: 1st round pick

Houston gets: 1st round pick via min
Houston trades: Aaron Brooks

OKC gets: Aaron Brooks, Ronny Turiaf
OKC trades: Jeff Green

Nuggets get: Wilson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Jeff Green
Nuggets trade: Carmelo
