Dear SAS,

It ain't about what Melo is worth. It is about not giving up the assets that you don't have to.

Sincerely,

Sane Knicks fans.

What gives you the notion that Melo is a lock for us?

If we sign Melo in the offseason, we lose Chandler, Turiaf, and the MLE.

WE
LOSE
ASSETS
ANYWAY.

Dear SAS,

Dear cheese noodles. Please understand that the difference between winning teams, like Boston and LA, and the losing teams, like Isiah's Knicks, is they don't go gongho on trades.

Winning teams like Boston? Kevin Garnett trade? Seems Boston went "gongho" and it worked out for them..........

The package going back to Minnesota, Al Jefferson and Theo Ratliff's expiring contract, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair and Ryan Gomes, along with a future first-round draft pick and the return of a first-rounder the Wolves surrendered in the Wally Szczerbiak-Ricky Davis trade in January 2006. Minnesota also receives cash considerations in the deal.

Dear Piggy,

As you mentioned, they gave one decent player in Al Jefferson plus fillers. They kept Rondo (despite Minny demanded him and the trade almost did not happen). They traded Telfair instead. I think you missed this simple detail. I am open to giving them Chandler plus all those fillers.

This point I don't even care about leverage, give them fields And Chandler and be done w it already... This team has fallen so far the last month.

You are not done with that. They will ask for Fields. Then you say OK. They will ask us to take on Al, Balkman, and Anderson. Where do you draw the line?

Who cares whether he starts or comes off the bench? I would rather have him than not have him.

Usually the core of a champ team starts... with few exceptions (Manu in SA, etc)

So because Gallo may not start, we should throw him away?

As long as he is on the team, we are better. Period.

WHen did I say that? And why is it throwing him away? You're twisting every single thing I'm saying.

My bottom line and my closing statement: Gallinari is replaceable, Melo is not. If they demand Gallinari, we give him to the Nuggets. We don't run the risk of not getting the BEST offensive player in the league, and have the two of the best pure offensive players in the game under an offensive coach.

This isn't a kneejerk reaction tonight's game, as I've always been hesitant to give up too much for Melo. However, the more I think about it, you have to get him now. The chance to get an all world scorer like Melo doesn't come around often. You win with stars in this league and in my opinion he's a top 10 player. With Melo and A'mare, Walsh can fine tune the team as he wishes and build around those two. Yes, I get the argument about waiting to sign him in the offseason or not giving up too much now because we have all of the leverage, but honestly, you give up Gallo, or Fields, etc, to get this done. The time to strike is now and I think in order to get Melo, we have to trade for him now, not later. What other stars will be available in the next few years? Sure, Paul, Deron, Howard MIGHT be, but we know for a fact Melo is NOW. SAS is right...you give up Gallo/Fields, Chandler, whatever...it's Carmelo Anthony. If someone said to us 3 years ago that we'd be able to have Felton, Melo, and A'mare as our top 3, we'd all have crapped our pants.

False. If they ask for Gallo, you tell them to f*ck themselves. They don't have the leverage to demand anything. At some point, we have to swing the big d*ck here.

Besides, why would Gallo go before Fields?

Besides, Gallinari needs the ball in his hands to be effective. I'd rather ship them Gallinari and try to get something back from Denver as well. Maybe JR Smith or Afflalo. Maybe even Nene somehow...

See you can't. You just said Gallo is replaceable, but you can't find a replacement.

I'm sure there are plenty of shooters who can't make wide open shots, only triple contested fadeaways.

Gallo gets like 16 pts on 10 shots. How does he need the ball to be effective exactly?

10 FIELD GOAL ATTEMPTS. Rest come from free throws. How exactly do you get fouled?

I'm done arguing. Have a good night.

lol. 10 FG attempts even with the fouls shows efficiency and a guy who doesn't need the ball.

So, he's too efficient?

Go to sleep bro. This is obviously too much for you to handle right now.
