It's an article by David Thorpe about Wall and how he thinks he stacks up against Rose and Rondo, while also predicting how long before Wall challenges for the best PG spot.
Thoughts?

Wall sees the game like a veteran, similar to Rondo, and normally chooses to make plays for teammates before himself despite a lack of talent around him on many occasions. If he played on a team such as Boston, I wouldn't be surprised if he led the league in assists.
Have to agree with this. Imagine Wall on the C's. He can put up mid-teens assists from time to time with the bums we have.
The same can happen for Wall Thing in the East.
Ugh, please tell me that is a translation bug and hes not trying to push that as a nickname. That is turrrable.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Pretty good article, the only thing I disagree with is that Wall is a very good defender... IMO, Wall is very inconsistent in his effort on D... He's Arenas like when not focused, and ways above average when he puts his mind to it...
His intensity on D has improved over the last weeks or so though...

Could this be due to injuries healing over time, or possible due to the binning of the dreaded ZigTechs?

i don't think so. it's just that he's lacking in fundamentals and hustle. he cheats off his man too much, he doesn't keep his arms up, and he sometimes daydreams when his man doesn't have the ball in hand.
but yeah, i don't think this article told us anything that we didn't already know before. wall's physical gifts are well known (the +3 in. standing reach over rose was surprising though), his lack of a jumper was well known, and many on this board, myself included, have lamented about JW's inability to change speeds. When compared to other sports articles, i guess it's pretty good but i expected more.

Well, the article does qualify their high assessment of Wall's D as relative to other rookies. How does Wall stack up as a perimeter defender vs. other rookie PGs? Bledsoe and the General are the only rookie PGs I can think of that get legit minutes (unless you want to count veteran ballers finally making their NBA debut years after the fact, like Shakur).
On the other hand, the article does state that Rose is not the defender that Wall and Rondo are. I'm not sure that Wall is clearly a better defender than Rose is at this point; at a minimum, Rose is an active cog in a far superior defensive system than Wall is.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.
