The only reason we're probing is because of this personal story of mine:
I was at Nets headquarters the day we brought SAR in to sign the MLE a few years back.
A member of Nets management told me to my face they also have a trade finalized to send to the commish...for Zydrunas Ilgauskas.
If my memory serves me right, Big Z was never a Net and I felt pretty embarassed considering a person most of you know the name of TOLD me directly. Ever since that day I took a "I'll believe it when I see it" approach to stuff like this.
If it's true, I just hope we got fair value.
If not, I still like Devin and still thinks he has a future as our starting PG if we secured a #1 scorer.

I actually would be ok with this ONLY because we're getting out of Outlaw's contract.

As the saying with all NBA trades go, typically by the time a trade has gone public, it's more often than not dead. Obviously that's not a hard and fast rule, but it does seem to apply most of the time.
I'll be interested to see if this pans out as I've been dying for the Blazers to make some sort of a move and Harris is fairly high on my list. That said, I have very little faith in the Blazers new GM to be aggressive enough to get any big deals made. So even if this Harris rumor is real, I have very little hope that the Blazers would be the team to get him.... But I guess we shall see.
EDIT: I take it this rumor is now debunked since the Nets and Harris are playing right now?

I would say so. If what I was told was legit I don't think there's any way he would have played.
In all honesty the timing seems off to trade Harris unless something huge comes along. I was the first one who wanted him gone when he was mailing it in a few weeks ago but since then he has definitely picked it up and been the most consistent Net.

Re: Devin Harris
Harris has been playing very well since the Melo-drama died down so I was a little surprised about this "rumor" that only appeared to exist on our board and nowhere else on the internets. We are not a tight lipped organization anymore so I really had my doubts.
But again, Devin's been playing well and I think management is happy with him. I don't think we would have made a quick trade for him unless we were significantly upgrading another position and HAD to make the deal. I don't think we're at the point where we'd trade Devin JUST for the sake of making a trade.
Trade Deadline is 2 weeks from today. Anything could still happen.

Re: Devin Harris
Absolutely not.
That trade reeks of fail.
