Deron Trades

Post#1 » by Lava Rock Kid » Thu Feb 10, 2011 9:14 pm

If Deron ran him out I want him traded.

I dont want any worthless contracts,

Here is my idea

To cleveland for Lebrons traded player execption (like we got al Jefferson) and their unprotected first round lotto pick.

Get ready for a lot of "you're the dumbest man on the planet" responses. Me? Yep, I'd do that.

No, just no. You guys need to listen to the radio on 1320 today. Almost everyone has come on and said this is Jerry's thing. He feels he is not helping the team and so a change is in order.

I completely agree.

We should have drafted CP3. Trade for him.

Rather have him or anyone else for a couple of years over the Deron.

Ya, since Byron Scott is such an amazing coach...

...is he still the coach of the most embarrassing team in NBA history? Ya, he is. I recall him smiling and hugging the opposing players after they got the record for most consecutive losses. Some great coach he is....I can't imagine why CP3 ever had a problem with him...

Chris Paul was mad when Scott got fired, he's part of the reason Scott lasted as long as he did, I wish he hated him, lol.

Deron can come play SG here, might as well kill another rivalry by teaming up two competitors!

When Greg miller dies, I hope his daddy turns him over his knee and paddles him blue for firing Sloan

Nobody fired Sloan. This team stuck with him for decades. Sloan left on his own accord....I guarantee you.

Stop whining like a little b**** and start getting behind this team when it needs its fans most. We have a top 3 PG in the league, an expiring max contract going into next off season, and a strong fanbase.

Amen. I honestly can't believe all the anti-Deron vitriol. I expected a lot more: "It sucks to see Jerry go, but hopefully it'll reinvigorate the team"

Honestly, this is the situation in my eyes

In one corner, we have Jerry Sloan, 6'5, 195 lbs. Proven offensive system that works when executed. Wants nothing but to win. Notorious for his "my way or the highway" attitude, rigid and unable to adapt to a changing league. Looks like he's the one that presented the "Me or Deron" ultimatum. Probably didn't communicate with the players like he should have, fixated on doing things his way instead of making any adjustment.

In the other corner, Deron Williams. 6'3, 207 lbs. Proven competitor and all-star PG, wants nothing but to win. Gets negative when times get rough, known to yell at other players when frustrated. Despite this is sounds as though his teammates are with him, and that says something. Undoubtedly played his own part in pushing Sloan out. Despite having some good ideas on how to help the team out, he probably put too much blame on Sloan and the system. It was a lack of good play and execution that hurt this team, not the offensive schemes.

Really, it's kind of a lose-lose. Both guys have been stubborn and both are a little wrong and a little right. I'm not siding with anyone, I'm just going to keep supporting my team and hope good things happen in the next 2 years.

Sloan felt forced to leave because of the chasm between him and the players/O'connor. You can paint it anyway you want. I don't think Sloan was willing to make the necessary adjustments to keep everyone happy, whether he's in the right or wrong is subjective. But ultimately I think he had enough.

Phil Johnson probably said "if sloan's gone, I'm gone."

Nah man, there are just too very viable ways to look at things and people are all getting too polarized...but what do you expect, we're all pretty emotionally attached to this team. My guess is that opinions will gradually change over the course of the next 2 seasons.
