You're really going there, huh? I wanted to avoid any of your usual petty crap, but I can see you want to argue.

Yes, proximity is a huge aspect, especially when judging value. There's an enormous difference between a nearly guaranteed 1-2 WAR player (which Wallace likely is going forward) and a guy who is years away from even potentially getting a shot in the majors. I'll assume you are referring to Trout and Harper (or Rendon?) in your post, though neither of those two carry any similarities to Gose other than their relative youth.

And if you don't think there's a risk in trading a sure major league player (however average he appears to be) for an extremely raw single A player, I don't know what to tell you. That was the point, and exactly the reason that I felt it was poor value. Not because of any subjective prospect list.

AA felt comfortable with the risk in the deal, and that's fine. It wasn't the first time, and it certainly won't be the last time that he makes a deal like this in order to acquire a potentially elite player. As much as I'd like them to, though, they're not all going to work out.

If you really think prospects with 1-2 WAR upside(however major league ready they maybe) have significant value than i don't know what to tell YOU. This is nothing more than your unhealthy obsession with zero talent(and fat) below average scrubs (Josh Towers, Jessie Litsch, Eric Hinske etc etc etc)

Sorry, but even league average players like Overbay (or eventually Wallace) do carry significant value. Consistent major league production can't just be shrugged off.

And Josh Towers isn't fat.

you mediocrity lovers said the same thing when Overbay was on the block and how we were gonna get great value for him, Mike Wilner said we would have to getatleast two top prospects or something ridiculous like that. No one even wanted to take him of our hands and pay his salary, sorry Randle, Mediocrity doesn't go for much these days. I'm just glad we have GM who doesn't settle for Mediocrity and then complains about the AL East when he gets mediocre results for mediocre moves.

Are you trying to master the art of the straw man argument? If so, you have a long way to go.

what straw man? do you want me to bring up posts where you said Overbay has value and that any team would be glad to take him of our hands? Never mind the fact that Overbay has so much value that the **** Pirates were the only team to give him a major league deal and that too for 2 million!

Go ahead. They don't exist. But this is all besides the point, anyway.
