Super Bowl Merchandise

Post#1 » by RollingRock138 » Thu Feb 10, 2011 5:59 am

has anyone gotten the Warner Brothers Green Bay Packers Super Bowl XLV Champions DVD? I'm just wondering what's all on it and if it's worth getting. Ps just got my super bowl champs hat and can't take it off!

Previous Super Bowl DVD"s are pretty cool. Definitely worth having.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

There will be more Super Bowl stuff coming in the next week or two. Initially they just have some locker room hats and shirts ready to go for both teams (Pitts stuff is shipped overseas). Then once they know the winner they start making other stuff. Stores have a bunch of NFC Champions stuff mixed in with the Super Bowl stuff, I guess they hope people won't notice and just buy it. Who the hell wants NFC Champion stuff?

I got the hat and the Sport Illustrated. Love that hat and the SI story is rather decent...

So far I have the SI issue with Rodgers/Jordy and the SI special edition.

I'll probably get a shirt and a DVD. That's about it I think.

The Super Bowl hat, t-shirt and towel should be arriving at my place today. Then, of course, I should be getting the DVD next month.

I'm going to go get the SI too.

Just got the Journal Sentinel book - a bit pricey at $20, but whatever.

Gonna get the t shirt and then torrent the DVD.

I'm gonna get every JS/SI/GBPG edition I can. I figure since I don't buy a lot of actual Packer gear I can justify it. The only gear I want is a tee when a nice one comes out and a fitted hat.

Are there different SB Champ shirts that come out?

I will deff be waiting to check out the America's game DVD,that should be pretty awesome.

I'll get the Sports Illustrated and some gear,I'm planning a big Packers shopping binge this weekend. It's always good to wait a week after they win the game so that you have a nice selection of Books/Magazines/gear to choose from.

The main thing to me as far as collecting Packers stuff and not just for this season is that I like to collect the games themselves on DVD,having this entire season from the scrimmage to the Super Bowl on DVD is pretty cool.

I'm real nostalgic though, when I re-watch an old game I'm not just re-living the game I'm re-living what I was doing and where I was at the time and the people I was watching the game with.

For example 10 or 20 years from now when I pop in the Falcons div game and I see Tramon's pick 6.I won't just be re-living that awesome play, but re-living everyone in my house going crazy and the awesome time we had.

Yeah deep,I know.

The game I'm actually in the mood to re-watch now though is the Monday Night season opener vs the Vikings in 2008,the night it all started for Rodgers.

Rilamann, I want some of your old games. I wanna see Elway, Favre and Montana in their prime. And I agree 100% about the nostalgia part of it.

Did you just have the forethought to tape every game?

I'm a total sucker for merch. like this. When #4 retired the first time I grabbed like 10 of every f'n mag that came out. Monday I grabbed a couple JSs then figured that the one to get was the GBPG so I put out a flyer to people I knew to see if they had hook ups...nothing, but a lead to order them on line. Fine, whatever $4 a copy? Ugh. So, I drop cabbage for 5 of each copy. Standard issue and the 'Extra' edition. Then only to find out that a spur of the moment itch bit me in the arse and I was headed to GB for the 'Return to Titletown' hoorah. Insult to injury I see at the Citco stacks for .75/1.00.
and this was on top of the fact that I just dropped $130 ger on a pair of $5 tics. (totally worth every penny though) I'm not one for general SB merch ala the hats and Ts and such. I've got a jersey with the patch on order and will probably pick up a dvd. I have no doubt I'll blindly pick up SB edition books too. Fandum comes with it's share of prices though. I guess I'd rather drop a stack on Super Bowl merch than to have a continual 4-12 team. Go Pack Go stimulate the economy through my pocketbook. :upset:

Yeah I've always kind of had the forethought to record the games because if something great happens or the game ends up being a classic I don't want say ''damn it,I should have taped it''.

Because then it's too late, although now NFL network replays some games but I'd still rather have the original complete broadcast.

So I just record every game and I turned it into a hobby in which I collect entire Packer seasons on DVD,even losses, and if I miss a game or to get older games that I don't have I trade with other game collectors online.

I also collect classic games that don't involve the Packers.

Here's my email if you have any questions about collecting and trading games.

rilamann20@yahoo.com

There was actually a small article in sports illustrated a couple years ago about game collecting and they interviewed one of the main guys I have traded with, who is also a Packer fan.Maybe I'll see if I can find it.

In for two (seriously).

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. I thought it was $20 for the cover in a frame. I didn't look very closely :P

You could always buy the cover and buy a cheap frame separately, or have it framed on your own. It's a lot cheaper.
