I'm happy for the guy. Notably Randy Rigby didn't say "interim" Head Coach.

I hope he is an intermim. If we are gonna redo the coaching at least totally redo it.

I love Corbin. He is a great dude and has a great basketball mind. He will do a great job.

I feel bad for him in that he is being put into this position with this situation.

He has my full support and I'm excited (as much as I can be) to see how he does.

No, they wished him the best in coaching for 23 years. The Jerry resigned. He wasn't pushed out by the management.

I am stoked for Corbin. He's a lot younger, and he should have some excellent insight on how to deal with the younger players of today. Hopefully he can take over this team and keep us moving forward in the right direction.

I'm pissed that Sloan and Johnson are gone but at least they'll be replaced by a couple of guys worthy of respect.

Congrats to Ty, figured he was either going to leave or take over for Jerry at one point. Didn't know the day would be today. But it will actually work out well for him to get HC experience under his belt and potentially playoff experience.

The whole thing's bull, the circumstances that led to Sloan stepping down. But Ty deserves a head coaching opportunity. I'm very happy for him.

It's the Jazz, they operate internally. A black man coaching in utahr? I wonder how long that is goint to last.

I'm not going to be surprised to see Hornacek coaching next season.

Kiss my , it has nothing to do with his color. I dont want a new coach. I want a veteran coach. Hey how about this, I would like a coach with similar expierence to Sloan. How long has Corbin been coaching? 2 years? That sure breeds confidence.

I don't understand your personal attack, I wasn't expressing support or disdain at the promotion of Corbin, just making an observation. This topic is totally going to get bumped once Horny is head coach next season.

Why don't you step foot in Utah before you say stupid things?

Radio guys were saying Hornacek was at the building and speculated he may be hired as a coach. But Corbin didn't accept the job until noon. Press Conference was a 3pm. He didn't have time to set anything up. He and Scott Layden will coach the team tomorrow.

Greg Miller made it clear that they felt it is important that Corbin pick his own coaching staff. They will let him do that. It will all be his decision.

And no, I don't think a black coach in Utah is strange or unusual and he won't be replaced next year. He is the coach for the foreseeable future.

Jeff was at the press conference so I'm sure he will be an assistant. He seems like about the only choice for one on such short notice, and in the middle of a season.

I would really like that. He has been working with guys periodically on shooting anyhow--which is why he would be there today and be a strong candidate if he is ready to commit to the NBA lifestyle full time again. I understand that is the biggest reason he hasn't made the jump yet. He does like his family time and kids were at an age where he was pretty involved with them.

Glad we got an up and coming Jazz man to be the coach. I just hope he is successful and doesn't get crucified by the same stupid fans that always thought Sloan needed to be fired.

20 years ago it would've been unusual. 30 years ago it would've been strange.
