How do you know that for sure?I'm not sold on Brown being a team player and wanting glory(championships)over more lucrative offers and more money....he accepted the offer this past offseason from the Lakers simply because nobody wanted to offer more than 3 mil/year(IIRC Indiana offered him that much)....If he got an offer of 4-5 mil/year I'm sure he would've taken it
And playing for the Lakers in the playoffs(where the rotations are shortened and the core players see more minutes, especially Kobe, whose minutes are being kept down so that he can be fresh for the games that really matter,so I'll be surprised and pissed if he saw less than 40 mins a night). I'd be surprised if he saw more than 15 mins a night ....and in 10-15,there's not much he can do,he can't really showcase himself and the odds of getting a good contract become very slim
On the other side,if he accepts the trade,he will for sure see at least 25 min a night and has a good chance of being the starter at SG for Memphis(if not the scorer of the bench)....he can put some points on the board and if he averages 12-13 pts a game I think a team will take a chance on him and offer him at least a Blake type contract(4 years 16 mil, maybe more)
My point is,from a financial standpoint,it's in his best interest to accept the trade if Mitch pulls the trigger(better odds of getting a good contract than with the Lakers)
