It's a good time to be a Kings fan

Post#1 » by KingCousins » Thu Feb 10, 2011 8:38 pm

Even though they have dropped a lot of close games, they have been against good teams. And the Kings have shown that they can hang with the best in the NBA when they are on their game as evidenced by back-to-back wins against the Lakers and Hornets. And think about how inconsistent DeMarcus has been from quarter-to-quarter. He has gone from looking great to being invisible from one quarter to
the next.

I imagine by next season DeMarcus will have figured out how to be a dominant force in all four quarters giving them a great chance to win these close games. Lets face it, when Cousins has looked dominant the Kings have looked dominant.

Cousins and Evans are as good as any young young core in the league outside of the Thunder's in my opinion. Perhaps more importantly they seem to be almost a perfect fit for each other and play a style of basketball conducive to winning in the playoffs.

It's a good time to be a Kings fan.

Agreed. My only concern is that Tyreke figures it out. The way he has been handling these end of game situations has been disconcerting to say the least.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.

Its a good time to be a fan of the franchise. They have to stay in Sac for me to be a happy fan.

If that gets solved I will take a giant sigh of relief and cherish the Kings for ever and ever.

Cousins will hopefully become more consistent, but I think the lapses in production are a large part of who he is as a player. It's what almost makes him more explosive and more often than not he's explosive at exactly the right time, usually later in the game. He's really a "feel" player more than a workhorse type and I think lapses go along with it. The only thing I can't wait to see with him besides refinement in some of his erratic play is him playing 36 minutes every night on average.

It's not even his fault anymore. As demonstrated last night, the refs clearly have a vendetta against Cousins. So long as it lasts, he will never be allowed to spend an extended period of time on the floor. And when he's not on the floor, the offense goes to hell. Once again, Sacramento is screwed... Hopefully it will wear off next year.

Considering the arena issue being up in the air, and down the last round of proposals, and the young talent on the team, I would say it's the most tense time to be a fan, not the best. I don't want to be a fan of a team that watches it leave town and then get back to the playoffs, like the Thunder did.

+2, no mater what happens to the Kings Franchise. I'm still going to be a die hard Kings fan. But I'll only wear Sacramento on my chest. Unless the team stays in Nor-Cal, I might be able to wear another Nor- Cal city on my chest.

+1
The time between now and the March relocation deadline is a very tense time. After March we can stop holding our breath and be assured we have the team for at least one more season.

Word is talk of relocation by this year hasn't even come up amongst the Maloofs. They aren't going to move by next year, but if there is no real deal proposal for an arena, if not ground being broken by the start of next season, it will be their last in Sacramento. If there even is a season....
