If Denver says "2 out of the 3, and you get Melo" sure. Not until then though. They have to beg for them. Otherwise, we can offer them, and they can say it's not enough. Where would we go from there?

LOL, the first time I'd ever heard that phrase was on that show. It is appropriate for the majority of callers

fire dantoni

i think everyone knows d'antoni's relationship with gallo's dad is going to keep gallo on the knicks roster.

those kinds of comments are tiring and bordering on the ridiculous.. Honestly, if I keep hearing that, I am only going to assume people are trying to bait arguments, I mean why else bring that up without any proof?.. If people are going to use that, please provide some kind of article that dantoni and gallo's father are that close, that he would do him a favor even if it meant his own demise... Could it just be that walsh, the man who drafted gallo, just actually likes him.. to keep brining up this relationship with gallo's dad is really a cheap shot at gallinari... and please, tell me what is their relationship? does he talk to gallo's dad every day? do they hang out in the off season? stop with this relationship crap.. they were teamates long ago, and from what I heard haven't talked in years.. gallo from what I heard him say, didn't know much about mike growing up except that he played with his father....

As I believe he will. Guy is a bit of consistency away from being a terrific player. But he's gonna do it elsewhere, so that a guy who could have signed here as a FA, and won championships, instead got every last dollar, but won nothing significant.

but hey, NY fans will be happy because we have CARMELO ANTONYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!! in NEW YAWK!!!

I give it 30 games before NY fans turn on carmelo.. no doubt... For me, that will be more fun to watch than the knicks in the finals...

What I'd love is Walsh trading Gallo on the wink wink tip like Philly did with Cliff Lee  ...The Knicks lose leverage every time the media speaks.

What about be the other side of that coin? I suppose it would be for all the 'we don't need stars' to get there wish of passing on Melo because we want to hold onto Fields or Gallo.. Melo signing with Nets... Franchise tags coming out, and Amare breaking his knee and being out for 2 seasons..... And the Knicks are the Cavs x 2 - again... but hey, we kept Fields and Gallo right

I don't get other players as insurance for another guy "breaking" his knee.. if amare breaks his knee and all we have is carmelo and a bunch of below average players, we would be good enough not to get a top lottery pick, but probably not good enough to make the playoffs.. that is know as being stuck in mediocrity... Honestly, if amare went down, I rather suck enough to get a good pick....

I don't understand why people think giving up 2/3 suddenly leaves us with nothing but "below average players" .. As if we become the Heat's surrounding cast if we trade Chandler and Fields for Melo...And i'd bet we'd still be a playoff team with Melo here, minus Chandler and Fields and Amare with an injury....Considering how weak the bottom East teams are, no reason to think Melo Felton and Gallo wouldn't be able to get an 8th spot..... Amare going down with the current team would just make us the second worst team in the league behind the Cavs...so we'd lose a ton, but all for not.

But the point being Amare would be much less injury prone with another guy to carry half the weight.... but i'm not saying anything that hasn't been said a million times.

I'm gonna flip it around. You're a freaking (Please Use More Appropriate Word) if you think we should trade Gallo + for Melo giving the circumstances. We're not going to get 3 Max Players. Once Melo gets the extension, that's it. So ask yourself, how are we going to get that third player? By developing Gallo. Keep Gallo at all costs but go after Melo using everyone else excluding Amare and Mozgov. There ya go.
