We are still bidding against ourselves.
Hope Donnie remains firm. I would like to hold on to Gallo and Fields no matter what.

With all this new technology, there has to be a way to tap into Walsh's phone and hear what the real negotiations are. C'mon nerds do your jobs!

Melo's value is rising and I'd be inclined to give them what they want (all 3 youngsters) BUT I'd want Nene back as well. I would give Denver $20 million in savings, picks and all of Chandler/Fields/Gallo for Melo and Nene.

I think people get the wrong ideas and read in to this stuff to much, just because the two teams call each other and throw names out there doesn't mean its any formal offer, people need to realize this.

how is his value rising? the only thing i see rising in this situation is our leverage against them. the closer to the deadline the more pressure on denver to move him. i'll give denver for credit for using the media to manufacture this pressure on the knicks to get a deal done, but in reality theres very little pressure on the knicks and a ton more on denver as they take a huge risk if they dont move him before the deadline.

people do realize this, thing is the media is the intermediary and represents anything they hear as an offer. its almost like telephone lol. teams talk certain names, source gives name to writer, writer makes up scenario citing source represents it as fact, reader interprets it however they like and again represents it as fact

Melo's putting up monster games, we are losing (and down by 20 at one point) at home to the Clippers, STAT seems frustrated, home crowd is antsy, Chandler is lost in space - as much as it pains me to say this, we are losing steam. We'd be better off if any of the aforementioned wasn't happening but they are all happening simultaneously.

Exactly, its just frustrating that people actually believe like a report such as Ric Bucher's. So far what i've read theres only been 2 formal offers, the nets offer and the Knicks last saturday. Many sports writers also believe the Knicks are going to make 1 more final offer closer to the deadline. My opinion i think it might go down during all star weekend all the teams are in intersession no basketball is being played, plus Melo would only have about 3 games left before the deadline and 1 at home.

all things you said are basically true, but they're knee jerk emotional responses to whats happening. you dont let "little things" impact your big picture scenarios. those things arent positive, but they wont effect the deal. will denver try to use these things as leverage? sure but it wont work. also we have a winning record.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 16] - Melo Says: "Out of my hands"
These dudes in the Denver FO are a joke. They try to drag every other team in the league into these trade talks to trick Donnie into thinking they have some sort of leverage...slowly but surely, every other team backs out/gets turned down by Melo....and so when all else fails, they demand every single asset we have in desperation?? Ujiri needs to google the word "leverage" and while he's at it, google the name "Donnie Walsh". What an ass clown.
They just continue to hurt themselves because Walsh is no fool and to be honest, most guys in this league with an executive position in any organization would laugh in their faces. No one is that stupid, so the fact that Walsh is ultra savvy and experienced is a moot point. If they had been up front and fair from the beginning, they could have gotten a much better deal. At this point, I hope Donnie tells them to go F themselves.
Lastly, if Dick Puker's report is true, it should be a clear sign to Melo that the Nuggets are playing games and trying to sabotage his eventual stint in NY....understand that Donnie won't make a deal for the right reasons...suck it up and play out the season so he can sign here in July. Those demands are preposterous and obviously Melo wouldn't want to come to a team with a roster stripped of all it's talent. If they think this is the way to either get Donnie to cave in or sucker Melo into resigning, they are smoking laced blunts.

Re: [Camelo Thread Part 16] - Melo Says: "Out of my hands"
Its a game of chicken...we as fans overreact to every piece of news and every game.
The knicks lose a terrible game to the clippers...reaction: trade anyone to get melo ANYONE
Carmelo tearing it up over the past few games...reaction:trade anyone to get melo ANYONE
....
If we come out and play a great game vs the Lakers tonight on national TV and whoop some of dat azz and Gallo drops 20 and Fields gets his double double...reachtion: stand pat we can't trade all of our core.
Donnie is not like us fans he is patient he will make a calculated decision for the best of the franchise in the short and long run. We have to just be patient the deadline is 2 weeks away and a deal probably will come down to that last hour.

First off....no it's not. Not sure where the infatuation with Nene is coming from. He's undersized at center, only a decent rebounder and is much more of a scorer than he is a defensive presence. Douglas starting at the 2? No bench and no more cap flexibility? Giving up picks in the process? Please....
Secondly, the fact that Melo is playing well and the Knicks aren't is irrelevant. One bad loss to the Clippers is even more irrelevant. It's one game we're talking about....how does that effect trade talks that will have an impact on this franchise for the next 5 or 6 years? C'mon guys. It's not like we have anything to lose here. Our team is in a good position for the future regardless of our current struggles, yet it's not like Melo is that last piece we need to win us a championship this season. Denver does not have us by the balls here. Add the fact that Melo is demanding NY and has the ability to walk here this summer....my God....is Ric Bucher's report really making you guys think we should give in to these absurd demands? Is it that easy to sway people's opinions?

This is silly. What Melo does on the court, and what we do on the court has nothing to do with these negotiations.
Everyone knew Melo could score. We are still a playoff team. The only thing that affects the front offices of either teams is where Melo will sign an extension.

I don't expect anything to happen until at least next Thursday. Denver has three games, two against potential playoff teams in the next five days.
