Warning - San Antonio Game thread

Post#1 » by pineappleheadindc » Fri Feb 11, 2011 5:31 pm

Where is the spurs game thread.

I'm warning this entire board, if it's not up by tomorrow, I'm going out of order and making a game thread with ONLY photos of the Luv-a-Bulls.
You've been warned.

Jesus, Pine. Do you have those Luv-a-bulls pics saved to your desktop or something? How has the computer not crashed yet?

This is the game thread.

I especially like the warning sign. Warning: Major ass kicking predicted.

We were all looking past San Antonio to the big Cleveland game.

I suggest continuing to use the "Game Thread?" thread. The Wizards are 1-0 when using that thread, but 13-37 in games with clearly marked game threads :)

Seriously, does anybody think we have even the slightest chance of winning this one? We are so bad when we face well-disciplined teams like San Antonio.

We lost on December 26 by a score of 94-80. Parker went for 20 and 14 with only 3 turnovers; Manu went 5-7 from 3-point range; but overall, they didn't overwhelm us offensively. We got killed on the other end of the floor. Wall had a nightmare game (4 points, 4 assists, 4 turnovers, 2-9 shooting); Blatche and McGee didn't play; and Young went 5-19. Hinrich and Lewis were the only ones who showed up.

Maybe we'll look a bit better with some home cooking and with Blatche and McGee on the floor. Our only real hope is to overwhelm them with our athleticism.

I'll take one for the board and say yes, Nate.

Now the board has someone to flog after our inevitable demise... or I get to shout nyaa-nyaa-nyaa at everyone. Either way that's a win, right?

Actually, it's a perfect setup for an upset. Washington will be very well rested at home, and SA will be on the back end of consecutive night road games on the right coast. Tim and Manu are going to want to rest them old bones.

We need to save enough in the tank for the big game against Cleveland.

The Cleveland game is a must win.

We're also due for one of those crazy 'everyone shows up and plays lights out' games that get the board off on talks of playoffs and taking a game from Boston/Miami.

Besides, it would be so Wiz-like to beat the Spurs, then get blown out in Cleveland.

Well fine, if beating the Spurs is going to be the popular position, forget that then!

Parker is going to school Wall, Ginobli will single handedly foul out our entire front line, and Duncan will stare down McGee with such ferocity that Javale will ask to be excused from the court.

Book it.

Hey guys,

Stop talking about the San Antonio game as if it were the game thread. This is the anti-game thread. Whoever had the thread for the Bucks game - we won - get a San Antonio thread up.

Or else......

When you say "win," do you mean "lose?"

It's just so hard to keep track in a tank year.

I dunno, Pine. This thread feels warm, comfortable, and as of your last post, slightly hideous. Just like home!

The other possible Wiz-like outcome is losing on a game winning shot by Alonzo Gee.

Was that a Luv-a-bull?

or the actor chosen to play the Joker in the next Batman movie?

Well the Wizards have beaten the Celtics, who last time I checked were a well disciplined team. And the Spurs are going to be playing their 2nd game off a back to back. So I would say the Wizards have a slight chance, but yeah I wouldn't bet on it

Again, the Wizards are significantly worse on the road. They lost by double digits to Bucks on the road- only to blow them out at home. Again, I think the Spurs should win (their road record is better than the Wizards home record).

Or they star missing some shots, which they didn't miss in San Antonio.
