Sen's deal Fisher to Predators

As the Ottawa Senators sit in 14th place in the Eastern Conference, only one point ahead of the Islanders, it was a foregone conclusion that the club was going to be selling any and all veterans to begin a rebuild. The two players sure to draw the most attention were known to be defenseman Chris Phillips (because he is an expiring rental player) and Mike Fisher.

The Senators took the first step in rebuilding by trading Fisher to the Nashville Predators for their 2011 1st round draft pick, and a conditional pick in 2012.

And the fire sale in Ottawa begins.

Although I think this is a pretty good deal for both teams. The Sen's need some draft picks to start the rebuilding process and Fisher will fit in perfectly with the Predators.

And they've got a ton of moveable assets. I could see them moving Phillips, Kuba, Gonchar, Kovalev, and Neil. And if I where them I'd be looking to move Spezza as well.

Fisher already paying dividends. Great screen in front of Budaj leads to a Shea Weber goal. :D

As a maple leafs fan who despises the senators, Fisher was the one player I liked. Great pick up for the predators and at a decent price.
