Where does it say the Nuggets are willing to give us Billups? Only way they move Billups is if they get a loaded deal like the Nets and are forced to move him.

It was bad enough Chandler knew he was a dead man walking...now we have to deal with two more young minds in Gallo and Fields (guys who LOVE being Knicks and don't want to be traded) not knowing if their days are numbered or not...this is going to sink us until the 24th.
So be it. These negotiations are bigger than a few games in the season.
nah man! I made a bet with my boss that if his Laker frontrunnin ass loses to us tonight, he has to paste a big ass sign on his desk that says GO NEW YORK GO NEW YORK GO! in blue and orange lettering. I want this win!

For all we know other aspects of the business could be highly profitable and whatever he stands to lose on the Nuggets he is going to take as a loss against his other profits. It could be the other way around and the whole business could be losing money and he is looking for savings here but the reality is we just don't know the truth of it all so I wouldn't make that the central aspect of my argument.
I understand that it's "corporate". It was a general example. The point being, when you look at the financial picture of the "Nugget entity" there is NO OTHER WAY that you will find a 22.3 million dollar valuation. The government is not that forgiving. They like their money. I understand that you like to look at all points of view but you are taking it way too far. Kroenke has a huge sports empire and he didn't get it by being fiscally irresponsible. And in this situation throwing away 22.3 million would be doing just that...
The Nugget entity is one of five professional sports teams this guy owns. So, it's a much bigger picture than just the Nuggets. You have the Rams, the Avalance, the soccer team in Colorado and another one in England (if I remember correctly). Even if that 22.3 million put him in the black he'd be forking a piece of that over to the government so it's not like he is keeping all that money. I'm sure this guy doesn't have an accountant but a team of accountants and financial officers.
edit:
You could be right but I wouldn't bet money on it. And if this report is true it seems like they have moved beyond financial savings. Plus you have to factor in the value of the Nuggets with and without Melo. Especially, if it's true that he wants to sell.
Play time is over.

It doesn't matter who's better . The Nuggets already have Ty Lawson in place to take Billups spot. It doesn't make sense at all for them to trade Billups for another point guard. especially one that will block Lawson from playing significant minutes...

IMO Billups, but it doesn't matter. Chauncey is the man in Denver and they're not looking to move him. Especially for another PG when they're already looking to turn things over to Lawson.
I'd love Billups though. Him with Amare and Melo would be sick and would still give us some fexibility with his deal.

I promise you felton will be miles better when Melo is on this team. He will NOT shoot as much. I dont want Billups because he seriously still thinks he's mr. big shot. He had a huge game last night and now everyone's slurping. CHILL OUT.

A 7ftr (Bynum) with bad knees that are trying to support a 285 pound body? Besides that, don't forget that we got Mozgov for nothing, so it's not like 7ftrs can't be found or acquired. They would still have 7ftr Gasol etc... A great game closer like Carmelo is much harder to find than a 7ftr, so don't kid yourself. The Lakers would do this deal in a heartbeat.
Also, Laker fans hear what Charles Barkley and Steve Smith said about Kobe last night, about Kobe being on decline. That Kobe is pump faking more than ever because he's on decline. Barkley said there's no shame in getting old lol.
A good friend of mine is a big Laker fan. He lives out in LA/never misses a game etc... He told me 99% of Laker fans want Carmelo for Bynum. He thinks Laker brass is acting coy about it, but ultimately want to do this deal. I can't dismiss the Lakers as a threat if it's true that the fan base would support it.

Recent rumblings have the Nuggets interested in Knicks point guard Raymond Felton being added to the Carmelo Anthony package, with the Knicks taking back aging Chauncey Billups.
So far, that element has not been a consideration for Knicks president Donnie Walsh, whose signing of Felton has been one of the best values of the 2010 summer free-agent market.
The Felton acquisition recently drew rave reviews from Kobe Bryant, and the former Bobcats point guard was in consideration to be named to the All-Star Team as a reserve. He's averaging 17.2 points and 9.0 assists, though his defense has been unspectacular recently.

it saves them money. billups will make twice as much as felton next year. that's why they want to do it.

Billups takes 4 less shots than Ray per game. Just make sure you can prove what you're gonna spit. Chauncey's shooting is much better. You can say he is a better fit. As well, he gets to the line almost 3 times more a game than Ray.

huh of course he takes less shots NOW. I know Felton is having issues because he feels as though he has to shoulder the scoring burden but with Melo he will defer. I guess it also ultimately depends on if we really plan on going after cp3/deron in 2012.

All this negativity about Felton. Take a look at Pauls numbers this year then look at Feltons again. Its not just Felton. Its the whole team thats dragging ass recently. This team is waiting for something to happen. They can say they are not. But they are.

Never underestimate the strength of knowledge.
Bring back the physical game and send the softies home.

My only concern in relation to the "talent and/ bad contracts" that is included in the deal. DOLAN!
If Dolan lets DW do his job I have NO CONCERNS about what we will give up.
I aslo want to mention. IF Dolan is not involved I believe the Minny-Denver-Knick deal is already agreed upon. Unless, Denver feels they can make a play-off run WITHOUT Melo. If they do not believe that. Then they are working on deals for Martin, Billups, and JR Smith. There just isn't enough time to wait until two days prior if you want to moves any of those other guys. It would essentially mean asking the entire league to wait until the last minute. Makes no sense...
Melo's "It's out of my hands" comments represents "good bye" on some level people. This may be annouced by next wed the latest.
To clarify, the 2 days prior to the deadline comment I made pertained to my personal way of filtering out the b.s. reports and posturing that gets leaked in the weeks leading to the deadline. That aside, every time you see teams making last minute trades that get finalized several hours beyond the trade deadline is an indication that the real meat of that trade got hammered out (pause) a couple of days prior to the deadline, if not closer. It doesn't happen all that often, but it happens a couple times a year.

Everyone here shouldn't give a $hit about Felton and Billups because they're not coming back after the summer of 2012.

agreed, it's injuries too but the rumors definitely have affected them.
