Thanks to everyone for the compliments on my last Gamethread. I finally settled on the format I anted to make for my gamethreads, and I am really proud of it right now! Felt a little uneasy because the previous two threads I made ended up being losses, but now I’m on a little mini winning streak and back at 6-3. ;)

That being said, this is going to be a tough game. I have much respect for Jerry Sloan, and I can’t believe the day that finally happened that he would resign. It was shocking to me, and even more shocking that some Jazz fans are rejoicing. Rumors are that Deron played a part in this, but I’m sure that Williams and the Jazz will have something to prove tonight, and I fear this might become a blow out if the Suns don’t bring their A game.

I agree that it will be a tough game. I think that Williams is going to be on a mission, especially with all of the talk of his involvement with Sloan's departure. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he put up his best game of the season tonight. The Jazz are a notoriously bad first quarter team but I think that they'll come out with a lot of energy tonight.

I think that we need to get the ball into Lopez/Gortat early and expose Jefferson as a defender.

I'll be at the game tonight. It'll be strange not to see Jerry Sloan on the sideline. It was a bummer to see one of the best coaches in NBA history step down in the middle of the season. I wish him the best! If you hear anyone screaming Russian at Kirilenko tonight, that's me! :)

Yeah, with Sloan gone I think D-Will and the entire Jazz team will play their hearts out. Teams tend to do very well in their first game with a new coach. Suns need to approach this game with extreme caution and play intelligently.

Vince may not be as clutch as he once was, but he definitely had his share of clutch moments in his prime.

I hope this Vince shows up tonight:

I'm going to apologize in advance to anyone not watching locally... just in case Mark Jackson is commentating for the ESPN broadcast.

Were the Suns saving up Vince and Grant for tonight?

Hopefully the Jazz will struggle with Sloan's resignation. Frye needs to hit his threes tonight.

Love the game threads. We need this win badly. First time above .500 in two months.

Let's convince the Jazz to trade us Deron Williams for Steve Nash!

The Jazz may be somewhat split over Sloan's ouster - I dount they're all happy

I must be getting old but from what I've read, I'm on Sloan's side, mostly

Mark Jackson .... makes me yearn for those streaming games with the Chinese announcers

That's a tough one. Really is. A coaching legend...but his style really doesn't fit a guy like Deron. Tough for both of them, and tough for the team. Hard to pick a side. Everybody loses.

Awesome... Mark Jackson is doing the LAL-NYK game. That means we don't have to listen to his (Please Use More Appropriate Word) statements all game long.

I dunno man... A point guard who will probably end up leaving anyway in a season or two over 20-whatever years coaching the same team AND keeping them respectable to title competitors almost that entire time. Just seems classless to go with the guy that's been around such a short time. I highly doubt Williams stays in Utah after his current contract... and then what do they have? A mediocre team without a HoF coach.

Hopefully we can take this one out, but it will be tough considering we are coming off a back to back.

This game is a trap. I think the Jazz will be more dangerous with Deron calling the plays.
