No chance I give that much for 'Melo. We'll still get killed due to our non-existent bench.

Don't want to harp on Gallo - but does that count perhaps as some evidence that MDA is having difficulties parting with the kid? That trade rumor of Fields and Chandler certainly seemed like it came out pretty soon, but beyond that that article suggests we'd be crossing the line into 'blowing up' territory to MDA to include Gallo (but not all 3)....

I don't care what MDA has to say or thinks, if he were to mess this up it would be Donnie's fault for letting him prevent it.... Dolan's as well.

As ESPN reported Wednesday, Denver is believed to want a larger deal with a bigger returning package of players, adding Danilo Gallinari and perhaps even Timofey Mozgov . As Newsday reported last month, the Nuggets also might want to send Chauncey Billups in exchange for Raymond Felton.

None of this should be a deal-breaker, and a source said it wouldn't be for the Knicks. But another source said D'Antoni is said to be resisting this option. He is all for adding Anthony, but not at the expense of blowing up the roster.

So basically you guys want to trade 3 out of the 4 players, and swap point guards. Which board members are going to suit up to fill the rest of our roster.

Sorry, as much as I want Melo I will not give up 3 out of 4, that's ridiculous.

lol @ saying "let's get to the second round for the next 6 years" as if it were a knock on Melo's impact to the team. As oppose to what? Keeping the roster as constructed? Why? So we can consistently be in the playoff chase? Because not knowing if your going to make it is much more fun right  . Give the Gallo mess a rest this character you portray is annoying. Constantly trying to down Melo is all an agenda to prop up Gallo or to create scenarios in which we need to keep Gallo or stating his impact versus Melo is annoying.

But buutt its Melo!! Hes a SUpAstaarra!

Honestly at this point I dont care. Trade the whole team. Lets get to the 2nd round for the next 6 years. F*ck it. If thats what fans want thats what Donnie should do.

All I know is when we get Melo, Dantoni should be fired. We would have no use for him anymore.

That's the difference... Magic lose 4 games in a row and a total revamping transpires... we drop 8 in a row, 12- of 16 (?), and you don't here a peep.. you don't even think to hear a peep.

Much of that is expectations and such, but still.... I'd like to think MDA is on the hot seat, but i'm not sure. (No, I don't know who i'd replace him with either).

In what world is blowing up a average at best team a problem? Take the homer glasses off.

It's not that. It's that if we get Melo our flexibility will be limited. We can still improve the team with our kids. I want Melo but not for that many players.

Sorry, I'd rather build the team right, not like the Miami Deceit did. We will end up in the same place that they will be in but it will take another year or two. I don't want two stars and a bunch of scrubs, that can arguably only get us into the playoffs depending on matchups.

I want to build up the 3 stars and still keep some role players. I want to get Melo but on our terms, it makes no sense to blow up the entire team now. If you can honestly look in the mirror and say that we will be giving Shawne Williams major minutes and you're ok with that then you are full of bravery, I am definitely not willing to do that.

What does my post have to do with Gallo? He played like ass tonight. So did everybody else. Im not opposed to trading him in the right deal, which the new deal Denver wants is not.

My stance on Melo has been clear from the beginning. Hes a GREAT scorer but hes not a guy you gut the team for. And yes Chandler, Gallo, Mozgov, Randolph, Felton, and Curry for Melo and Chauncey is gutting the team. Thats a stupid trade.

If you think Im underrating Melo's impact I think many here are overrating it. Whoopdie do Amare and Melo will be on the same team. Who gives a sh*t? Two scorers who cant pass or play defense with a mediocre PG. That team MIGHT sneak into the ECF one season unless we actually get Paul/Deron, strike gold in the draft (dont even have a pick next year though) or get a steal for the MLE (if its even around still).

But hey Im not here to stomp on your dreams. Just telling it like it is :D.

Our flexibility was unlimited for the purpose of having it limited by a max player. This has been the goal all along.

Yes but we can still get a max player without having to trade everyone.

What's the point of giving in to Denver when he can be had much cheaper in the summer.

Gallo his only shooting 35 percent this month and 12 percent from three point range if were getting carmelo he has to go. Lately he been playing like he doesn;t care anymore because he doesn't want to go to denver he is so mentally weak person same goes with chandler and i am big chandler fan but when your getting millions of dollars there is no reason these rumor should effect them.

from Hahn

And the longer Walsh chews, the more Carmelo stews. A person with knowledge of the situation said Anthony has gotten so tired of the process - haven't we all? - that he eventually could give up on his main priority, which is to be traded to the Knicks with the three-year, $65-million contract extension. He could tell the Nets he'll take the extension and wait the two years to play in Brooklyn.

The source said the Nuggets are trying to re-engage the Nets in talks about that multi-pick deal that included Derrick Favors . Meanwhile, the Rockets still are trying to sell the idea of swapping Yao Ming 's insured, expiring contract, and though it seems the Lakers aren't a real option, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak has pulled off these kinds of deals before.

It's certainly cheaper than Gallo, Mozgov, Fields, Chandler and picks (AR).

Good. The money is more important for Melo. Good for him. The players can stop worrying than.

Yes it's a risk but I have no problem taking it.

Return to New York Knicks
