Karl Malone on the coaching staff

Post#1 » by mjvile » Sat Feb 12, 2011 5:23 am

How would that be. Just watching e.s.p.n. and sounded like he wants to be part of the team. Wow

I think that he would be a nice addition to the end of the bench.

He needs to be a big man coach first. I think having a Kryzkowiak or Moncrief first will be better with Scotty and Horny.

I love Malone, and think he would do wonders for Al Jefferson. But if you listened to him in the interview during the game he believes that Deron took down Sloan, and we can't at this at least hire someone who would be blaming Deron for this. Malone, is great for a quote but his act and his obvious alliance with Sloan would probably not be a good fit at this time.

Bring in Gordie Chiesa.

He could probably still play, and even outplay half of our current roster.

Easy solution trade him while his stock is so high. I would rather have experience over a player.

Bring him in. If Deron can't deal with a guy that has an opinion, well then he has no spine. I doubt that scenario.

I don't know why you wouldn't want him. He could teach Al everything he needs to know. Everything missing from Al's game or that is weak is something that Karl excelled at. He would be a perfect mentor for him.

Let me just say that Karl Malone was not cast from the teaching/educational mould. This can not work.

Well I would love having Karl as a coach, but with how opinionated he is and how he doesnt have a filter I could see management saying he is a liability and would side with jerry

I would love this. Karl may not be the most eloquent speaker, but you can hear his passion for the game. I would just have Al shadow Karl around while he works out. Place him in the gym with Malone and just have him work one on one. As for Dwill its a non issue, they wouldn't be working together. Malone is hired just to work with Al, Millsap and Fes.

Great post/idea.

When I take over the jazz in approx. 30 yrs, I will hire him and john, while hornacek is coach and sloan is my top consultant.

Malone kills current team and D-Will, calls FO liars, implies Larry would never act like Greg does and THEN asks for a job. #truegreatness

All of these guys will be dead by then. The Jazz will no longer be in Utah because the Millers were hurting for cash and had to sell the Jazz to a new owner who moved them to Bolivia (International expansion!). So if you can't speak Spanish, you might not like Craignado Bolersoto and Matteno Harpolopez as the TV play by play team.

Malone's attitude reflected in recent comments will ensure that he doesn't get a coaching job any time soon. The last thing players want is someone telling them how much they suck--which is exactly what he would do. The last thing coaches or management want is to have to be cleaning up after a coach who can't deal with the players without throwing a grenade in the room.

Maybe he should be a studio analyst--they get paid to tell people how it is for a minute or two during the breaks--but stay far away from those they criticize.

I'd love for this to happen, I can just imagine Karl the most overrated player in NBA history coaching lol. I wonder if he would make the team do 3000 sit-ups a day to improve their free throw shooting.
