Is it time for a change?
When fully healthy and with the team, Luke Ridnour has been our starting point guard. Much of that had to do with Flynn's offseason injury recovery process. But Luke was originally brought here as a backup, not a starter. Combine that with Flynn's continued improvements as a starter, is it time to make Flynn the new starter, even when Ridnour returns to the team?

Re: Is it time for a change?
Well it kind of sucks for Luke to lose his starting spot because his baby is sick. Flynn has been playing better though. I think I'd give Luke the spot when he comes back but depending on how the team plays I wont be afraid to make the start change. Luke would probably be really well suited off the bench though as instant fire power. Flynn is too hit or miss to be that spark right now.

no.
in grander scheme of things it doesn't really matter as they both are below average starters, but Flynn is making too many silly mistakes to start for any team. Let him earn something for a change.

Ridnour is still the better player by a fair margin, even with Flynn's recent improvements. So I would give it back to Luke whenever he returns.

Personally, yes promote Flynn to the starting lineup. He is only going to get better with time, and i prefer him to be starting over Ridnour. Will only do his confidence the world of good by playing big minutes, while Luke has to get used to the back up role with the saviour coming next year.
Also it gives him an opportunity to showcase his skills to other nba teams, because to my dismay, realise that he will be traded before Rubio comes over.
Good luck to Jonny, he is a great kid, has the skills to be in the nba, he just needs a system that suits him.

Nope. Flynn is too inconsistent and still makes dumb plays, and that would be a dick move to Rid.

Re: Is it time for a change?
I think Flynn has shown a lot of improvement and brings a lot of energy to the team when he plays well. I think this time has actually been good overall for the team, because Bassy has really shown that he can play and has upped his trade value a lot. Flynn has gotten his confidence and his quickness back (his shot is looking much better, and he can actually beat people off the dribble now).
I think Flynn is the starter when Luke comes back, but I also think that they are a good combo, so we should have good results with either guy starting/backing up. The main reason I think Luke is the backup when he comes back is simple...that's what he was brought here to do until Flynn got back to form.

Rid-Brewer-Beas-Love-Darko would be my starters, think it's already worked pretty well when used.
Flynn-Ellington-Johnson-Tolliver-Pek as reserves too, I think, ain't a bad rotation. I'd probably give Webster back his minutes too when he recovers.

I made this suggestion a while ago.... Ridnour would HELP our team by leading the second unit imo.

Flynn should definitely start. I think it's safe to say if you're making basketball decisions based on what's the nicest thing to do for individual players, you won't keep your job for long. The gap between Ridnour and Flynn in terms of overall contribution is very small. But Flynn has turned his season around here since being inserted in the starting lineup, and Ridnour hasn't done anything all season to justify messing with that.

Re: Is it time for a change?
Flynn has closed the gap some in the last few games, but over the course of the season Ridnour has been way better. We probably want to see as much Flynn as possible before the season is over though.

He should start. If he doesn't start til the end of the season and Rubio comes over we have to sell him for a bag of donuts.

Re: Is it time for a change?
This team is tricky. I think that Ridnour probably benefits the team more if he's working with the second unit. Once Ridnour gets back, I'm hoping they try out both and see which works best.

You can't go back now. Flynn has been playing better as of late and you want him to stay confident & know that he's earned his starting spot back. Sorry Luke, but you'll be returning to the bench where we originally intended for you to be. It's just the way it goes sometimes.

I agree, and I think Rambis will stick with Flynn as starter when Luke comes back. Flynn's a more valuable player for us in the long-run and when a young player who's been struggling for a while hits a patch of form in a certain role, you would have to be hesitant to make another change.

Flynn hasn't earned ****. He's still the headless clown he was in his first year, trying to showboat with 1 min left in a 4th quarter of a close game, then picking up stupid tech just for the hell of it. He still has the horrible AST/TO ratio. He's still the worst defender among point guards in the league. Please point me to one, just one, aspect of his game that has improved since last year.

And really people are clamoring for him to start? I think he should be cut on the spot for the way he has been playing this year. He's just not a NBA caliber player right now, mentally as much as skills-wise. Hell, I don't even sure he could play in Europe or NBADL for that matter. All this And-1 stuff he loves to try to do so much doesn't belong on a professional basketball court.

How did I know. The minute the kid has a poor game again people were going to lynch him. The predictable absurdity of fans never ceases to amaze me. It get to the point where people literally want that player to fail for the vindication of their own egos.
