He said we have a nice future. Then he proceeded to say come on now, that's Carmelo Anthony. In other words, are you kidding me that they don't want to trade some of these guys for Melo?
They asked Kobe if he felt the knicks would make it deep into the play-offs if they acquired Melo- that's what Kobe's response was referring to. I watched the press conference...
I watched it too. I was just looking for the video to see exactly what he said, all I could find was the part where he cursed, lol. Do you have a link?

Not sure if this has been posted yet...saw it earlier but forgot to post it.

I personally think this is a half BS report because the Knicks would be getting away with robbery with the original trade offer and would be thrilled to have the trade be accepted...second part is obviously true - Nuggets are not happy.
Nothing new here though.
Why haven't the Knicks and Nuggets pulled the trigger on the three-team scenario that would send Carmelo Anthony to New York with Minnesota as the third-team facilitator? Front office sources say neither New York nor Denver is satisfied with the arrangement in its initial form, which would send Wilson Chandler and Corey Brewer to Denver along with a Minnesota first-round pick, with the Wolves getting Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry's expiring contract.

The Knicks aren't satisfied? That's got to be some sort of posturing or something. Unless they really want another player back from Minny or Denver, I don't understand why. I could see Denver not being happy with it. It's interesting that this deal doesn't seem to be dead, like that framework is in place, it's just adding around it to make it work. Which is a very good sign. -Jitpal

Do any of you realize what the "mental implications" are when a person can complete a fast?

I just can't wait until this deal gets done. I keep checking this site and certain writers' twitters for updates.

Melo said this is the best offensive stretch of his career. He's averaged 40.3 points his past three games and 35.4 in his past five.
Something tells me this will only go to make Denver hold out for every penny...
And as someone said the other day reading his "It's out of my hands Cheryl" comment - perhaps he's been told by management something like "just play and we'll deal you if that's what you want" and that's what has sparked his good play the last few games...... At the end of the day, it's in the best interest of Denver to have him play well these last few games (even though we already know who he is), - they eventually have to recognize how well he's handled the situation and his play for them and come to grips with the him leaving and the fact that it will be easier to work with him and get the most out of it rather than grind him out and make him unhappy.

It's always quiet before something big happens, so maybe it's a good thing

His comments are a whole lot of nothing. A few people said Melo is enjoying the attention he is getting for this. Those comments reflect that. That's about it. I do think the fact that he hasn't been talking one way or the other about something happening is a good sign. Like he isn't throwing idle threats to NY about reconsidering the extension or telling Denver he is going to be a free agent and make his decision then. That's a good thing, from the outside it looks as if Melo knows that the two sides are working to get something done. -Jitpal

Im not sure Id be willing to thow in chauncey and felton into this. We have felton on a good deal and he's far younger. Just because hes been slumping recently I wouldn't be willing to trade him that quickly. Chauncey's contract is flexible with the club option but there aren't that many other pg's available currently and felton has shown he can perform in NY.

Only real thing I could see holding a deal up, or Donnie saying No to would be to take back someone who would prevent us from being able to go after another big name - perhaps not necessarily a max... Would Harrington impede on that? And would his contract be worth securing a second all star?
Harrington would definitely impede on that. If you are someone who believes that the Knicks are building their own "big 3", then Harrington's contract is a big no no.

I was referring to the fact that he fasted for 12 days. My original question was: Does anyone realize the Melo's mental implications since he was able to complete a 12 day fast?
