Privately, Minnesota officials believe they will acquire Randolph before the All-Star break, but believe it will more likely be as part of a straight- up deal with New York in which Minnesota gives up a late first-round pick, takes on Roger Mason, and then waives him.

Brewer's future with the Wolves
8:16
AM ETCorey Brewer | Timberwolves TopEmailShare UPDATE: Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said this week that he is not trading Corey Brewer and that's fine with the fourth-year player.

"You hear all these rumors, you don't know what's going to happen," Brewer told the Star Tribune. "Your name turns up on ESPN and everybody starts calling you. I don't know what's going to happen. I'm like, 'I don't want to go nowhere, I'm happy here.' I try not to pay any attention to it."

Brewer will be a restricted free agent beginning July 1, if he's tendered a qualifying offer from the Wolves.

this is pretty suprising to me

and unrelated....

Beasley will rest his ankle
5:34
AM ETMichael Beasley | Timberwolves TopEmailShare Wolves starting small forward Michael Beasley has sprained his left ankle several times this season. Beasley has finally decided that it's best to miss some games and let the ankle heal, instead of rushing back to the lineup.

"I'm going to rest it until it's not sore no more," Beasley the Star Tribune. "It's one of those things, I don't want it to shorten my career. It's my feet. That's one thing you really can't mess with. It's not that serious, but I do need to rest it. I never really gave it a break. I need to take some time to strengthen it and let it heal."

Beasley has missed two games so far and could miss another two or three before he returns.

Meh to Brewer. He's been alright but if he were replaced I don't think I'd care much.

Good to see Beasley finally taking a rest. Maybe he can get back to that Sacramento/New York form he had earlier in the season?

Out of the Webster/Brewer/Johnson triangle log-jam Brewer is the only hustle guy out there. His energy is something we should not be ditching. Move Webster or Johnson for a value deal, move Flynn, picks for a Randolph deal.

We need to stop undervaluing Brewer.

Apparently we also have to stop overvaluing Randolph.

Okay, assuming there's no deal on the table for you guys to make, and don't need the cap space, how's this?

For those to lazy to click, you guys deal Sebastian Telfair+Utah's first rounder for ARandolf and Eddy Curry.

I think NYK should pay 3 million to cover some of Curry's contract. If Minnesota makes no moves than I'm all for it.

yeah, I don't think that would stop us from doing it. I was just using player and draft picks assets.
