So because of his rep, he should just sit back and enjoy losing? The Kings need a leader, and Cousins is starting to become one.

EDIT: And by the way, it's not like he was calling out a seasoned veteran. He was calling out a 2nd year player, so I think he deserves a little more credit here.

I think Cousins should have handled the situation better i.e. confronting Donte. But his underlying message is absolutely correct though. Someone needs to stand up and say something. Cousins thought he is right about the last play/Evans (which he is). He believes everyone should be accountable on this team no matter who you are i.e. Evans. To me, that is true leadership.

We still like him but the fact that he's not learning is really annoying. What infuriates us is combining that with what seems to be a complete lack of responsibility.

The calling out of Tyreke was fine although Cousins himself was 5-14 in that game. But taking a swing at another player is ok now?

I'm not turning on Evans, but Kings fans expected him to take a leadership role this season, and he hasn't.

The Pacers would be AMAZING with Cousins.

Collison + Paul George + Cousins + Hibbert? :droop:

But no ;)

Evans just doesn't trust his teammates, and sometimes it works (see last season), and sometimes it doesn't (see this season).

Ok. I partially agree, teammates should be held accountable for poor play & that in itself does show leadership as long as the player also holds himself accountable & works on his own game. But no matter how you slice it- throwing punches at teammates does not show leadership no matter what the reason.

No one should be taking a swing at another player, especially not another teammate. But at least it shows the fire inside Cousins, and how much he wants to step up as a leader and win. I just feel the whole rookie card is being overplayed. It's not like he took a swing at the coach.

Although I wouldn't mind if he did

Maybe the Kings just need a stronger veteran presence on the team to show leadership and a coach that can hold his guys accountable.

One source said Cousins and Green argued in the locker room, with Cousins telling everyone he wanted respect, regardless of his rookie status.

4 lines is an essay now? Hm......

How about you actually address the issues like some of your other Kings fans but coming out to attack a poster pretty much shows that you have nothing of note to say...

No no, I know that. But a little extra push isn't a bad thing every now and then. I'm sure when Kobe or KG get angry at teammates in the locker room, they're not afraid to call out a teammate and give them a little "push" or two to get them fired up.

Kings fans have wondered if we'd target a guy like, say, Billups, around the trade deadline. Even though a guy like that wouldn't be a longterm fit he'd probably help the team in the future a whole hell of a lot.

This situation reminds me of Joakim Noah's rookie year. He called out his teammates for poor effort early in the season, then later had a 1 game suspension for arguing with an assistant coach extended a game by his own teammates.

No rookie should be half the trouble this wannabe tough guy DeMarcus is.

Or better yet, they should trade him to the Bobcats to let Oakley slap him. :D
