I'm not sure the Knicks are the lofty benchmark we should be striving for.

This season isn't a "Nash vs Amare" competition...

Too bad for us the west is still so deep and the east is very top loaded. In the east knicks are the 6th seed and even Indiana at 23-28 are the 8 seed while in the west .500 gets you 10th.

ya .. look at it this way.... knicks improved from last year...... amare is all they have... without amare.. knicks are a bottom team... if suns still had amare this season while acquiring gortat and them still ... phx would be top 2 in west!!! so dont be like nash makes amare... he doesnt ... they both complimented off each other

That isn't true, and it's annoying to hear, even from the Knick fanbase. Ray, Wil, Fields, and Gallo are all very good players, and Turiaf has been huge when healthy. Our cast isn't awful, it's average-a little above average.

you'd think by the optimism this board has right now, we were th 6th seed in the playoffs. But yeah were 10th. And the Knicks are 99.9% guaranteed that they are going to be in the playoffs while we are still fighting.

Still, I think that the Suns are rolling while the Knicks are not. I can possibly see us challenge all the way to th 6th spot in the West.

Of course we wouldn't be as good without Amar'e, I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying his overall impact has been exaggerated. We upgraded at the PG, SG, and got two big guys in Moz and Turiaf, who has been huge when healthy. And we also got addition by subtraction with Duhon and Harrington. It's not like it was just the Amar'e for DLee swap.

im sorry but David lee would not have the same impact with the knicks even with all the upgrades this summer. He is in GS who has a great PG in curry and SG in ellis but lee is not really making an impact. Its true that the personnel in addition to amare make them better but without amare they would still have the talent but not the wins. Your kidding urself if u dont believe that.

Saying Amar'e isn't the reason behind the knicks is ludicrous. I live in NYC, watch all the knicks games. You're naming names that most people who follow the NBA know nothing about. Every big fan of ANY team can say what you're saying. We talk about Dudley and Dragic for god's sake, most people don't know much about them. The knicks supporting squad seems to be decent because of the system, and don't think people on this board know all about that. This is where players come if they want to get overpaid when their due for a new extension, and now NYC is on that list too.

And it's no secret that the suns would kill the knicks in a seven game series. Its also no secret for us suns fans who know Mike D, that any playoff team right now would beat them in 7.

Fact is its an 82 game season. Amare hasnt proved yet that he can carry a team in his shoulders for all 82 games. steve Nash has proven it over and over again. The suns just needed a decent PF and energy off the bench.

I agree. Amare alone isn't the only reason for the Knick's improvement this season. It's been the addition OF Amare, as well as Felton, Fields and another few players.

Give this Knicks team some more time, one "almost All-Star player" (OJ Mayo?), upgrade the bench, and I feel the Knicks could be a real playoff threat.

ma_laa.... are u serious????? amare has made that team improve already from last years record..... nash and the suns got worse there 10th.... if u switch nash and amare right now, and put felton on the suns...... so its felton, carter, hill, amare, gortat/lopez.... and the top 2 bench the suns have........they wouldnt be .500 they would be 2nd in th west behind spurs....... amare would be unstoppable next to gortat

 @ this rube. The Suns are worse than last year, however Amar'e isn't the only player the Suns lost.
