Offical Trade Deadline Thread
The deadline's February 28th and it should be a busy day.
Is your team going to be buying or selling? And if they're selling who do you want to be shipped out? and if your teams buying who would you like to see your team go after.
I'll start it off. I think the Oilers should try to move everyone we can. Hall, Eberle and the rest of the youngsters have shown that they're the future of this team so its time to ship out some of our middle aged player. Hemsky, Penner, Gilbert, and Khabibulin can all go. And I think if we can move Gagne and Cogliano for the right price we should ship them out too.

Both of my teams are buying. Both need offense, their defense and goaltending is solid.

Leafs trade Versteeg to Philly for 2011 1st and 3rd round picks.

Just seen that. I honestly think the Flyers overpaid a bit, I like Versteeg but i'm not sure he's worth that much.

Yeppers. Versteeg will make you rip your hair out.
Blackhawks will be buying because they have to. This fanbase will not take too kindly to staying put after winning the Cup.
Come be with us, Chris Phillips. Bring your friends Filip and Sergei with you

I'd like to see Kaberle stay in Boston tonight.
Wheeler can get on Toronto's plane if they want.

Offical Trade Deadline Thread
Bruins grab Chris Kelly from Ottawa for a second round pick.
I like PC as a gm. But him during the deadline frustrates me. You hear about these "big" moves, first there was Hossa a few year back, then you hear Kaberle, but in the end, we end up with guys like Steve Montador, and Dennis Seidenberg.
Give me my sexy blockbuster, Chia!

Re: Offical Trade Deadline Thread
I don't know what to make of the deadline quite yet. We're getting early action but it's not for rentals. Pairing this with what appears to be a weak market for rentals I'd think the deadline will be quiet. Then again we're already getting action which means teams are looking to deal. All I know is I don't want to have to keep listening to how a team I don't care about (The Leafs) aren't doing anything.
I'm going to be interested to see what the Oilers do with Hemsky/Penner. They've also got young guys like Cogs, Brule, (maybe) Smid that could be moved as well.
The Pens are in quite the predicament right now. Not sure what the Blues are going to look to do, especially with Brewer. I'm curious to what the actual return would be for Bogosian. And, of course, there's Kaberle.

Kaberle to Boston for Joe Colbourn, a 1st and a conditional pick.

Re: Offical Trade Deadline Thread
Blake Wheeler, Mark Stuart for Rich Peverley and Boris Valabik (precursor to Kaberle deal).
Also, the conditional draft pick going to the Leafs is a 2012 2nd rounder (the condition is Kaberle re-signing OR the Bruins making the Cup Finals)

Woooooooo!!!
Finally, Kaberle is here. I've been waiting years for this, now extend him please.
I had such high hopes for wheeler when he first was signed. Too bad he couldn't get his career back on track with his buddy in Toronto, but Chia decided to ship him to ATL.

I thought that was a joke the first time I saw it. Great deal for the Av's.

Really don't like this deal for the Sens. Anderson showed some promise over the last 2 seasons but he's been nothing but injured all year, plus he's going to want to get paid after this season and i'm still not convinced he's worth big money.
Elliott could work out for the Av's, he's still fairly young, he's big and he's shown that he can play in the past.
I really like what the Av's have been doing so far. They're adding young talent and picks and at the same time they're becoming a better team.
