Indiana was just as buried in the cap as we were. The knicks was left with twice the talent that indian's was left with. Say what u want. Randolph, Crawford, Lee, Chandler, Nate were far more talented then anyone on Indiana's roster besides Grainger.

I can do that for every single GM of every sport since the beginning of pro sports. What does that prove?

Indiana was just as buried in the cap as we were. The knicks was left with twice the talent that indian's was left with. Say what u want. Randolph, Crawford, Lee, Chandler, Nate were far more talented then anyone on Indiana's roster besides Grainger.

Why would he have drafted Kobe....to sit behind Reggie Miller?

He had the Davis boys and Smits. Dampier was good pick cosindering he had a defensive minded coach in place in Larry Brown.

Plus he had mark jackon as his pg already with Best as the backup. Those guys played solid.

Nash wasn't even that good when he came into the League.

The Pacer starting lineup and some of the bench during their playoff years, minus Mark Jackson.

They had low to second round picks because the pick they did draft made the rotation.

LOL I heard this one when Portland took Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. 95 % of the time drafting need over best available in football or basketball is (Please Use More Appropriate Word) and this yet another example.

Wrong. Walsh moved up to CEO, and Bird came on as President of Basketball Ops.

Therefore, this was on Bird. Donnie took a hands-off approach to team building, and let Bird do his thing.

Considering the only team Kobe and his agent wanted Kobe to play for was the Lakers that post has no merit. The Nets wanted to draft Kobe, but Kobe and his camp didn't want to play in NJ. Teams that picked after NJ knew that where Kobe want to play and it would of been dumb to waste a pick on a player who would never play for, nonetheless he is a High School player. The Hornets drafted Kobe with the intent of trading him to L.A.

You need to brush up on your NBA history a bit. Kobe was not going to play for anyone except the Lakers and MAYBE the Knicks. It has ALWAYS been a basketball axiom to take a good big man over a very good little man...every time. Nobody knew MJ was going to end up being MJ. Sam Bowie was a very, very good center until his leg injuries did him in. A healthy Sam Bowie is a likely top 50 player. Great passer and shot blocker and a very good rebounder. Hindsight is always 100%.

Walsh put together a very good team in Indy that played in the championship game. Not many small market teams can do that.

PS...using Nate as a measuring stick of a talented pick is not a good move...
