http://hoopshype.com/free_agency.htm

Raefer Alston, Pargo, Tinsley, Crittendon, Kyle Weaver, Mike James
Larry Hughes, Stackhouse, Carney, Hassell, Rush
Simmons, Morrison, George, Udoka, Joe Alexander
Antoine Walker, Mikki Moore, Pops, Tiny Gallon, Chris Richard
Earl Barron, Dwayne Jones, Jake Vozkuhl, Mihm, Jerome James

Remember, these guys aren't supposed to be rotation players, though perhaps a few might grow into that role. They are to cheaply ride the bench and provide insurance while your stars log in big minutes.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Was that list supposed to support your premise?

So let me get this straight.
The Knicks offer is:
Chandler, TPE, 1st rounder (maybe Brewer)

Denver wants:
Chandler, Gallo, Mozgov, expiring, multiple 1st rounders.

The Difference in the deal:
Gallo, Mozgov, 1st rounder.

Honestly not an insurmountable challenge. Here are some options:
- Trade a combination but not all of Douglas, Walker, Turiaf, 2nd Rounders, Cash for another 1st rounder.
- Force Denver to choose one of Gallo, Fields or Mozgov.
- Take Al Harrington/Birdman
- Take back another rotation player if they absolutely must have 3 of the 4 (reduce 1st rounders as well)

They really aren't that far apart. The basics of the deal are locked in, like Broussard said before with his deal being the framework. Chandler to Denver along with a TPE, 1st rounder for AR and Curry. Another player thrown in either to NY or Denver to make salaries work, he said Brewer, I would get Telfair. -Jitpal

If the first is true, then I strongly disagree with the second.

How do you not see those 2 options as far apart?

If the first is true, then I strongly disagree with the second.

I meant in terms of parts, not the value of individual part. We don't know how the Nuggets value each piece, only the Knicks. It's hard to gauge if they really love Mozgov/Gallo or if they just want more to show to their fans. If it's the later, just replace them with purchased late first rounders and the like. If it's the former, then negotiate something else down, like fewer picks or maybe they would take Curry's expiring over a TPE. Not that far. -Jitpal

Just looking at the Nuggets schedule leads me to believe that IF anything is going to happen, it's going to happen between the 16th and the 22nd. The Nuggets have games Monday night and Wednesday night to finish their short road trip before going home to play the Grizzlies after the All-Star break on the 22nd. We've heard before that the Nuggets don't want to drive this all the way to the 24th (same day they play the Celtics) because they want to make sure they have time to deal with all of their other potential free agents as well before the deadline. Further, I highly doubt they make a huge Melo deal in the midst of their current road trip. The 6 day break between the road trip and their next home game seems like the most fitting time...no?

I can't imagine Denver having any interest in Moz other than milking whatever they can from us, in which case there's no way we need to part from him, and i'm pretty confident we won't have to.

Danny1024, where's your avy from?
