OT: Fantasy Basketball Trade Opinion

Post#1 » by glennathan » Mon Feb 14, 2011 2:35 am

I am currently in 8th sport and need to be in the top 6 to make the playoffs in my league. I have both Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin on my team and was offered this trade. I wanted to get some opinions on it.

I trade: Blake Griffin

I receive: LeBron James

Normally I would take any trade offering to give my Lebron without questioning it, but when I saw it was for Blake Griffin I had to think about it. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Lebron is a beast for Head-to-head leagues, even better than Griffin imo. He contributes assists/steals/blocks, decent FG% and doesn't murder your FT% like Griffin will. But since you do own Dwight Howard already you are murdering your FT% anyway so it wouldn't really matter. Also keep in mind Kaman is returning soon, while it doesn't mean hes automatically gonna eat any of Griffins production, it would be interesting to see how the offense the Clippers run changes, as well as Griffins rebounding totals w/ Kaman on the floor.

Teams are also trying to turn Blake into a jump shooter more and teams are gonna start trying to avoid Griffin from getting all these easy alley oops and make him shoot free throws.

Long story short, Id trade Griffin for Lebron if I were you.

Take it. Easy. Lebron over Griffin.

Lebron: 26.1 Points 7.3 Rebounds 7.3 Assists 48.5% FG 76.3% FT 1.3 3Pointers 1.6 Steals .6 Blocks with 3.7 TO

Griffin: 22.7 Points 12.7 Rebounds, 3.4 Assists 51.2 FG% 53.9% FT 0 3Pointers .7 Steals .5 Blocks with 2.8 TO

Lebron blows blake out of the water with points, and also assists(not easy to come by). Rebounds blake wins obviously because that's what he's been known for. FG% is similar, Lebron gives you 3 pointers though and more steals. Blocks are about the same, and about 1 more TO a game which isn't bad at all.
This should be an easy trade. Especially since Lebron has been KILLING it as of late. Take it before he changes his mind.

Blake is amazing, but this is LeBron James we are talking about. He randomly throws up 40/8/8 games.

He randomly gives you 12/12 from free throw lines, he randomly gives you 5 three pointers.

However what he is consistent at is at least 20/7/7.

How you not take that?

His bad games are good fantasy games. His good games are great fantasy games. His great games, shouldn't even be allowed in fantasy.

I really appreciate the suggestions from you all. I pulled the trigger and now gotta wait two days for it to clear. I hope I could get Dwight and LeBron on the same team. I would be easily able to move in to playoff contention.
