Bayside, Ill Nino, The Sleeping, Everytime I Die are a few that I do like. You can add in Triple Crown Records in with this group to me as well, again only a few bands that stand out to me.

Man I can't stand that music anymore. Reminds me of a weird time in my life. I used to be friends with Anthony from Bayside and almost got in a fight with some lanky goon from The Sleeping cus I boned his girl once. Haha...ah the scenester days. How I don't miss them.

Yeah for a while there they were quite popular, went to a bunch of shows for both of them. My GF at that time was obsessed with The Sleeping and usually where you see one you saw the other. Anthony always came off as a cool guy, got drunk with Jack once. However most of the music quickly fades over time, doesn't really hold up anymore at all.

Sucks about the White Stripes, even though they had a good run and certainly isn't the last we will see from the,.

Anyone like Cage The Elephant? They're kinda indie/alternative sounding. New album is pretty good.

Their new single topped the Rock Charts recently.

These guys and the Black Keys are pretty much holding down the rock scene ATM with the top 2 singles, yet neither still arent on the Billboard Hot 100 overall. Just goes to show you how far rock has fallen. Its all pop, club rap, R&B, and techno/dance. Oh well.

The White Stripes retiring is a shame too. One of my favorites but it was kinda of expected. I just hope Jack continues with The Raconteurs at least. Not really a fan of The Dead Weather.

I once ate a Meatloaf Gyro. My thinking was, I like meatloaf. I like gyros. But it was awful. Same thing with the Dead Weather. I like Jack White. I like the Kills. But Dead Weather is just tough to listen to.

That's kind of how rock is for me now of days, It's just not the same feeling. Even thought it's something I once loved and followed, it's just not the same. It's like having the greatest burger ever and than stacking every burger towards it, nothing holds up. Now of days I'm to picky, I'm like nah TREOS is better, Circa is still better, Coheed does it better. Something I gotta get over. I usually only listen to things after they get great reviews.

I listen to a lot of Sirius XMU and Alt Nation. It usually takes about a month of listening for me to discover one new song or artist that I actually like. Needle in a haystack, but there's definitely plenty of good stuff out there.

I'm in my car a lot anyway. For me, it's much easier just to listen passively than it is to read reviews and actively research bands. Too lazy for all that.

If I listened to twice as much The National, I'd post half as much on this forum... Magnetic Fields two point O.

Yeah I had no idea what to expect, just saw that the album was getting great reviews. First two songs were solid then this came on and I knew that this was for me.

We have a new record coming out and the song is called "When You Were In My Life."

Check it out if you get a chance. :)

Love the national.

not a big fan of their live stuff, most of it that I've heard is too fast.

runaway off their new album is a great cut.

ok I've heard these two songs a lot in the commercials they were in but only found out recently who did them, and didn't even know they were the same group. they're kind of fun:
