Felton for Billups is an upgrade for us.

I dont know about that. Billups has definitely lost a few steps and just looks old. Really dont think hed be an upgrade.

Melo is an upgrade over Chandler and Gallo.

Yep.

They said three starters and named 2 out of three, Chandler has to be the third.

But Walsh is playing his hand, I'm not mad if this were true but chances are that would be the deal most likely.

Hmm....my guess the 3rd starter is Mozgov. Really dont think Denver intends on resigning Chandler (too much money). That may be the sticking point.

IF We turned down this Deal. Idk Whats the Problem with this. Guys, this Carmelo anthony stuff has been going on forever and i just want it Over. Your taking about Pairing Melo with Amare and billups. WHO CARES IF WERE GIVING UP FELTON. FELTON IS GOING TO LEAVE NEXT YEAR ANYWAY FOR EITHER Paul, or Williams. I would have pulled the trigger in a heartbeat. GET THE DEAL DONE. ITS CARMELO ANTHONY WERE TALKING ABOUT. Imagine If we Loose him because we didnt want to give up Felton? Are you kidding me?

I don't care about Felton. He shoots too much for my tastes. But no future #1s, and no current starters except guys not under contract for next season - Chandler.

I think Felton, Curry and Gallo should be enough. But they want draft picks too.... Pass.

Knicks, Nuggets Execs To Meet Face To Face At ASG To Discuss Anthony

Talks between Denver and New York on Carmelo Anthony are expected to become "more extensive" during the upcoming All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, when executives will have a chance to meet face to face, according to a person familiar with the dialogue between the teams.

The Knicks and Nuggets have continued to be in discussions.

My guess is we offer up Chandler and remove Felton. Eddy, Chandler, Gallo and pick is what I expect the deal to be.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

So I guess money is importat to them after all. I guess those $20 million in cash savings are probably not looking too shabby to Nuggets ownership then.

Ahh now it all makes sense...

Donnie Walsh was the cause all along as to why we've been terrible for ten years even though he has only been here for less than five.

Thanks for the expert analysis!

Take it easy killer. If the report came from Isola the its likely he made it up or forgot to mention key components (like them asking for Stoudemire) to get Knick fans in the same uproar that it got you in (hes done that numerous times in the past). The guesd is there was never a concrete offer and youll see a statement to that affect made shortly.

Demyze wrote:What i take from this is Denver is a player now and those reports of them hanging on to Carmelo are false. Now we have 2 weeks to work with them and hopefully close a deal.

What I take from it is that Denver is still playing games. I'm guessing they asked for more than what the rumor stated because what is listed is not "Steep" and doesn't work financially.

They also made it well known we declined their ridiculous demands to make it look like we are not 100 percent into getting Melo. They want Melo to THINK they are trying to accommodate him ...fake hustle. They also may be willing to take the risk that he will resign with them. I hope they do take that risk....

If the only way we can get Melo know is by offering multiple starters and picks and crap then it's an easy "no" for me.

P.S. I thought Billups might be good for us but I'm a little nervous Denver wants to pawn him off on us so eagerly.

If its even true, at least Denver is making offers.

The price will go down as the deadline approaches. Walsh is positioning himself for check mate. Only a matter of time.

We just need to have patience and not whine so much. A deal won't go down until very very close to the deadline. Its always been like that as its in Denvers best interest to stall at this point (in case something changes)

I would take billups over Felton now. His defense has got worse but with the game on the line I want him in the game over Felton. Also add 4 points and 2 assists to billups avg this year because of the ssol. Felton is nothing special and not long term

Wow you brought so much to this conversation How could we ever thank you....
Moron yes you, how can you give up 3 starters and picks....... and expect to compete in the future. Do us a favor and go away. I don't know who you rot for but that fan base is pretty happy your not on their page right now.

Why give up your future to satisfy your present we have done that before and THAT is why we are where we are. Melo has sent the message he does not want to go to a gutted roster, all the rest of this crap is smoke and mirrors or team posturing trying to get a better deal.

Mr. Walsh knows full well the value of future picks he parts with them only when he needs to and has parted with enough at this point.

It is a bit of a gamble, or a game of chicken really. But it is one that it makes sense to play right now, I want Melo here more than just about anyone I know. He is a Syracuse guy and I have followed his career since then... that said the Knicks are bigger and mean more to me than just THIS trade. Denver has almost NO leverage, and asking the Knicks to back up the truck and pay until it hurts does not work when you are in a position of weakness. Their superstar wants out, and we can sign Melo in free agency unless we can come up with a deal that we can stomach.

Screw this offer, and screw Denver.

We are trading 3 starters but getting 2 better ones back

I don't want to trade gallo. Rather give up Chandler.

First of all, none of us truly know what the offer was, if an offer was made. Second of all, the last ten years of performance from the Knicks has nothing to do with Walsh. Great post though. This post stinks of someone finally making the realization that Melo will not be a Nugget next year.
