What I take from it is that Denver is still playing games. I'm guessing they asked for more than what the rumor stated because what is listed is not "Steep" and doesn't work financially.
They also made it well known we declined their ridiculous demands to make it look like we are not 100 percent into getting Melo. They want Melo to THINK they are trying to accommodate him ...fake hustle. They also may be willing to take the risk that he will resign with them. I hope they do take that risk....
If the only way we can get Melo know is by offering multiple starters and picks and crap then it's an easy "no" for me.
P.S. I thought Billups might be good for us but I'm a little nervous Denver wants to pawn him off on us so eagerly.
Yep...definitely a possibility (Denver trying to make it seem the Kmicks dont want him). As far as Billups go? Hes looked at times like hes running on fumes tbqh. I think the tank is just about dry.
As far as the general question about why they would want to swap Felton for Billups? Because Felton is the more valuable asset. Hes generally consideref the biggest bargain as far as offseason signings go,.his contract is friendly and hes young. Billups has no place in a rebuild, has looked like a old man at times and will not only cost more this year but nect year as well. Even if they let him go (team option) itll cost them $4 million to buy that option (which comes with its own negative publicity)
