Even if I did agree with your first premise (which I don't) You do realize we are getting Carmelo Anthony back right?

I don't think fans are enchanted with Billups but if he brings them Melo they are more than willing to take him...

So am I. But You don't have to lie to yourself about the downgrade.

Would you guys be this nonchalant if you weren't clinging to the improbable notion that we will get CP3?

Felton expires at the same time. You always side with the moss it seems like. For someone who deems themelves a point guard expert, its interesting how you can say ray is the bettet pg.

I am factoring in age and role on this team, as well as long term ramifications.

Would I give Billups the edge now? Yea, but only slightly. At his age though, and his steep rate of decline, he isn't worth it.

That's why I ask if the CP3 pipedream clouding peoples judgement. There is a much higher chance of retaining Ray than there is of forming a big 3

If we're really looking into the future we have to look at how much you're willing to pay Felton. I think he'll go where the money is. Are you willing to give him the money he demands after putting up stellar numbers playing with two stars? I woyld rather have someone wanting to come here to fill chancey's shoes.

So people feel Denver is negotiating in good faith? I don't really. Anybody share that feeling?

I fail to see why everyone thinks it's suddenly ok to give up more? Did I miss something where another team made an offer better than Chandler,TPE and 1st? I still wouldn't include Gallo in the deal. I might be moved to include Fields or Mozgov on 2/24 if it will get the deal done. Not sure I want to do Felton for Billups either. Why does everyone want to keep bidding against themselves? -Jitpal

The thing is after we do this deal we'd have 2 of the 10 all-star starters. I don't care what anyone thinks that's pretty huge. Plus we'd still have our ROY candidate (if Blake Griffin didn't exist) and a perfect sixth man in Chandler. And we'd have an NBA champion at PG (granted a little over the hill). We'd still have Douglas, Williams as reserves and we can go sign Barron.

I love that deal take it.
Play time is over.

ehhh not really. I think they feel like this is fair value honestly (remember they "hated" our assets), so they are trying to get as much as they can. It's negotiating, I ain't even mad at them. Remember they kept trying to add players on the Nets as well. This is how that dysfunctional front office operates.

Billups is a **** animal in the playoffs plain and simple, hes similiar to ray allen with the 3 pointers in clutch situations.

Denver has more to lose than NY does. Ujiri has more to lose than Walsh does. If they aren't negotiating in good faith, then they are screwing themselves. -Jitpal

I think most people think the third starter is Chandler so he probably would be a goner. If not, then it would be Fields.

I thought the deal we just rejected was Gallo and Chandler?

What is the basis of your argument? First off we get Carmelo Anthony which is our main objective and then we get Chauncey Billups a proven leader, point guard and a clutch player. Both Felon and Billups contracts end on the same year. In what world is Chauncey Billups a downgrade to Raymond Felton. Give me statistical proof and a valid reason and I will gladly take your opinion into consideration.

Plus no smart GM would work like that because you would be looking to get blackballed by the league. The question then would be is the Denver GM smart? So far he hasn't looked that way. Way too much manipulation of the press by Denver.

I figured Mozgov was an option because he starts and Chandler in a reserve plus his contract situation seems more appealing.

I think they are getting the ost they can by any means necessary. If that's playing teams against another so be it.
