Go on go on. You are almost there. Next time watch a NBA game before passing judgments on players, will ya? This is not nba 2k. You are not winning a ring with cp3/wade/kobe/lbj/melo/. You need a center, you need a PF etc. etc.

Kane this is my last response and then I'm done.

OK, you are right his 8 points in and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes a game in the playoffs was the reason the Lakers won it all last year. It would be absolutely (Please Use More Appropriate Word) of them to trade those stats for Carmelo Anthony. I'll go back to playing my NBA 2K as soon as I go and buy it.
Play time is over.

Denver's proposed deal all but defeats the purpose of why the trade was good in the first place. If we give up Mozgov, Chandler, and Gallo, and Felton that's 4 rotation players off your roster. We are left with Ronnie "my ankle hurts" Turiaf as the only center, a PG who doesn't even want to leave Denver, and no bench. Amare is forced to play center the rest of the season and consequently will be slower in the playoffs. We are left with Shawne Williams and Toney Douglas as our most reliable bench guys, ....this deal would wreck this team, i'd rather keep what we got and risk free agency if this is the case. But I have a feeling Walsh won't be getting burned like this.. Just wish this would hurry up already.

The Knicks may be struggling on the court but apparently they're not willing to mortgage their future for Carmelo Anthony.

According to the New York Daily News, the Knicks rejected a deal that would have landed them the Nuggets star, deciding the asking price was too "steep." Indeed the Nuggets were asking for a lot: Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Eddy Curry and at least one first-round pick, according to the newspaper. (The Knicks would have also received Chauncey Billups).

Apparently team president Donnie Walsh and coach Mike D'Antoni both agreed the price was too high.

The newspaper reports that a deal may still get done before the Feb. 24 trade deadline but the Nuggets would have to lower their demands.

Trade rumors have linked Anthony to numerous teams, including the Nets, Lakers, Mavericks and Rockets. But according to the Daily News report, New York and Chicago are now the leading contenders to get the All-Star forward.

No he was not the reason but when you have the luxury of always having someone in the paint as a presence since you have him, Odom, and Gasol, yes it makes a huge difference...

And I promise I am done too.

I am happy that you admitted that "Lakers didn't have Bynum" was plain ignorant. I am accepting your apology.

LOL at mentioning stats and nothing else, and then implying people have an NBA 2k mindset.

Why? Smith is mental and he's not that good anyway. Plus it leaves us with very little depth inside...

I would really rather not deal felton. But at the same time, I cant help but wonder if billups is exactly the type of veteran this team needs.

why does this deal say it is only Gallo Felton Curry and a pick? That is basically a Gallo Melo swap, who would not do that? It's the 'and another starter' part that makes it worthy of thinking about....

Billups has his advantages, but those are quickly evaporating. So when Billups expires in 2 years, and we don't have the money to go after CP3 or Deron, who is the best PG on the market?

Very good point.

The problem with Felton for Billups is the uncertain future. I'm not saying Felton was a long-term solution either, but he's a lot younger than Billups, whom we'd need to acquire a capable backup for almost immediately.

Don't get me wrong he's a good scorer but for the baggage and giving up interior depth, I'll pass. This team can't afford to give up bigs for more scoring.

Too bad we can't pry away Birdman. I'd go for Smith though if they were offering a filler in the deal and he was available.

Seriously. Why do they keep writing up stories about the NY Daily News reporting that the Knicks thought the offer was too steep, and then proceed to get the offer wrong? Is there an agenda or something, to make it look like the package the Knicks declined was better than what was actually proposed? This is getting silly.

Or maybe they have hope we can beat Atlanta and they make the deal tomorrow.
