I guess it will not be a bad thing to buy out VC. We received 3 mill already... so he is a 1 mill hit in the wallet, which is easier to accept. No doubts he will be shopped, and I would not be surprised if we just answer VC calls rather than make them.

He is good enough for people to be interested, especially the rebuilding teams that need his expiring.

It is just kinda depressing that one of the more exciting things about the season is .. what happens after the season.

That $3 mil gets forgotten, a lot, in discussions of the trade, doesn't it? It really does change how the deal looks though -

we can pay off VC for a net $1 mil.
Or we can pass that $3m along in a deal involving him, if the deal were sweet enough
Or not, and pocket $3m for "carrying charges"

That does not suck, option-wise. The only burr under the saddle is that for the res of the year, if we keep him, we're paying big money to a minimally productive player. VC makes Boris look like an overachiever

Oh, I agree. Then he disappeared when Amar'e came back. A maddening player but I would be real happy to have him back now
