Off-court chemistry..

Post#1 » by Imadogg » Tue Feb 15, 2011 4:15 am

First of all, this thread has nothing to do with today's loss or anything so no need to bring that up. I was just with a friend and we started talking about this. Sorta random lol.

So we were thinking... are guys on this team friends? I mean obviously they're friends to some degree, guys like Kobe/Fish have been together for basically their whole careers and have to be friends, but do they hang out off the court together? Besides the team dinner once in a while or time on the road, do the guys really spend a lot of guy time together?

I don't know, but just thinking about it it seems like it's a no.

Kobe is married with kids and probably on lockdown. Whenever I hear of people seeing him somewhere it's some Disney ****
Pau is all mature and into piano and art museums and whatever he's into.
Fish seems super mature and fatherly and one of the types who would prefer to stay at home or with the wife
Ron is crazy. Strip clubs and rap videos when he's not trying to repair his image by meeting up with fans.
LO is homies with Ron but they probably don't hang out, cuz Ron is crazy and LO is busy with his new family and reality ****.
Bynum is young, probably always clubbing, making it rain and **** hoes.
Shannon is newly married or whatever, so whatever past life he had is gone, for now at least in the perfect soulmate phase.
Blake seems like a damn robot, don't know what's up there.
Barnes is cool, but new so he doesn't have a bond with anyone.
Luke is gay so he has different interests off the court.
The rookies hang out for sure.
The old dudes, are old.

What do you guys think? I think I'm pretty accurate in my thoughts. These dudes seem mostly like co-workers/colleagues. The type you are of course friends with, you can hang out with without it being awkward, but you prefer to hang out with your other real friends than spend more time with them when away from work..

You don't have to hang out just to play well together on the court. Hell I've worked with guys for years and never hung out with them in my private time.

But your assessment seems on cue, except for Luke........we need some actual proof he's gay.

Oh I'm not talking about their play, just was wondering about the offcourt part. There's many other teams like this I'm sure, and many others who really gel well together off the court.

And Luke, he's gotta be gay lol. No 100% proof.. yet

Luke doesn't look too particularly thrilled to have a playmate in his arms, he'd much rather hold his chocolate lover. Who's the black guy? He looks hella moist too.

I read somewhere in the comments on an ESPN article that Kobe and or Odom were at the Grammy's is that true? If so that would mean that he would have had some major jet lag during the CHA Bobcats game. Plus he was sick with the flu. Hmmm if I was team mate this would be an issue with me.

I think the younger guys are more likely to kick it during the offseason and down time.

Yeah, it's really hard to de-gay that pic...
Only thing I can say is of all of them Luke looks the least gay... Hey, I tried.

That said... Kobe?

Those are terrible. Bad idea from the get-go.

OP, you don't think Barnes has any bonds with his teammates because he just signed with them this summer? He's known these guys for years.

He might, he seems like a cool guy too.

I didn't write factual information or anything, just what it seems like from the outside when you just think of each player, their personalities and how long they've been here.

If someone can shed some light on this topic it would be great

Not trying to back seat Mod, but cut out all the gay bashing. Seriously, I am aware that some of you are kids and your environment may be somewhat homogenous but here in the rest of the world someone being gay should never be a problem for this forum or the NBA.

Caracter and Ebanks are always together, well, since they're the rookies and since they both stayed at the Laker hotel for most of the season.

Gay bashing is when you beat up homosexuals, calling someone gay isn't gay bashing. If you are or support gays that's your lifestyle and you'll be held accountable for it, but don't force your sick views on others. And I don't know where you live, but more and more you see gay television shows, actors, actresses, musicians, you see men wearing tight pants and pink clothes, you see all types of homosexual behavior being imposed on the people, so don't act like only immature people speak ill of gays and that we are out of touch with the world. People like you are now the norm where you can't even say the word gay without someone trying to speak on behalf of homosexuals. I only came on this board to see how the Lakers fans felt about their teams struggles, but I saw your post where you attacked some guy for saying someone was gay, and you were wrong on all fronts, the person calling Luke gay didn't even attack him, he just said he was gay and left it at that, then you came at it telling him not to be a gay basher. Instead of following a secular liberal view on the subject why don't you read what happened with Prophet Lot and the people of Sodom or look to the dead sea for a sign about how God felt about and dealt with them.
