What happens after Silas?

His son, Stephen, is a Bobcats assistant and got a strong endorsement from his father.

"He’s at a point now where he could take over," Silas said. "He’s helped me immensely. He’s been in this thing for 10 years now. His time is coming. He’ll just have to wait it out.

"I told him I’d be his assistant behind the bench. He can have his staff on the bench and I’ll sit there and say, hey, y’all are doing a great job or you aren’t doing a great job."

Nice. I love NBA stories where things are kept in the family, or where players play in their hometowns and stuff. It's all become way to corporate. Nepotism ftw.

I endorse this move. I also like thinking about Papa Silas sitting in the row immediately behind the bench and saying either "y'all are doing a great job" or "you aren't doing a great job" 41 times a year.

Only if we had hired Silas instead of Vincent. :(

The possibilities.

I wasn't as avid a fan, but I resent that move. Why was Silas disliked as a coach? He was both liked by players, and a winner. It makes no sense.

I think this is a move showing we will continue with the current squad. Like someone already mentioned, we will stay competitive and give Silas one full season with this squad next year. Then next year we have contracts coming off and start to look at rebuilding this team. At that point I think it would be the PERFECT chance to get Stephen on board. I also think you HAVE to keep Oakly. Both these guys are GREAT teachers and are great with young guys, specifically Stephen. I fully support Stephen Silas as HC after paul, i've heard nothig but good things about the guy. What he has done with DJ (prior to injury) is just great, same as with Curry and Ellis in GS.

Speaking of GS, isn't it great how we continue to use them as our farm team? Richardson, Jackson, Silas Jr, etc.

Great news, I don't see why anyone would disagree with this.
