Wizards at Magic Intermural Quidditch Match Thread

Post#1 » by Zonkerbl » Tue Feb 15, 2011 12:11 pm

wewt! Hogwarts' school club bludgeoned the quaffle most notably while visiting the Cavalierly playing Beauxbaton squad from Cleveland, and now seek to snatch the snitch again from the overbearingly brutish and boorish Durmstrang crowd from Orlando, self-styled the unbearingly imaginative "Magic."

Manning the goal mouths for Durmstrang is the hulking Dwight Howard, whose ability to fend off opponents' bludgers while repelling the quaffle has attracted offers from professional clubs, most notably the Vratsa Vultures, seven time European champions.

Hogwarts, Hogwarts, hoggy warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot.

GO WIZARDS! BEAT THE MAGIC! HIT THE QUAFFLE WITH THE BLUDGER!
I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

VCU had a quidditch team. They used to practice in the middle of Monroe Park with brooms between their legs. I always wanted to propose to them that they should perform at half time shows at Wizards game. It would go well with our already embarrassing name.

Isn't it Ji's continued turn to do the game thread?

What is this out-of-order stuff??? Do you want some Luv-a-Bull action in retaliation?

No quidditch "player" has ever had sex. That's a fact.

How about throwing Seraphin at Howard this-time around Flip?

It was a joint thread, and he ceded thread starting rights to me.

Oh, and let me point out how very very much I dislike both the name "Wizards" and "Magic" for a professional basketball team. They are both stupid, childish, and I am embarrassed to be a fan of such a stupidly named team. So I took the opportunity above to point out just how stupid and childish the names are, apologize for any confusion.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I'm look forward to the game but I'm more looking forward to seeing them play after the AS break once Lewis and Nick get some rest.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/wizard ... ung-p.html

Rashard Lewis out, Nick Young probable vs. Orlando

Coach Flip Saunders said he is hopeful that Lewis will be able to benefit from sitting otu nearly two weeks before the team practices again next Monday. He expects to have Young against the Magic after Young suffered a bruise in his left knee during the Wizards' 115-110 win on Sunday in Cleveland. Young rode a stationary bike but was otherwise a spectator during practice.

Saunders also credited the presence of Josh Howard as making a difference in the Wizards' first road win in 27 games.

"We really don't have a slasher, playmaker type, in the front court. He's got the ability. He made threes, attacked the basket. He's so smart defensively. Just another veteran player," Saunders said. "And what happened, our younger guys played with more confidence because of that. It's like last year, we made the trade, got him, and then he got hurt right away. We never had a chance to really utilize him. When we've got him at close to full strength, we've been a pretty good team. We've won games. I hope he'll be able to have a good one tomorrow, have five days rest and prepare a little bit, keep toned up and be prepared to have a good 28 games."

Im really looking forward to this game. I think McGee's been playing extremely well lately(although he could board a little more consitently). I want to see him against Howard 1 more time. Also, hopefully Flip is smart enough to play Seraphin against Howard at times. He played him great in the 1st game and Flip wouldnt play him in the last game. He has this dumb habit of playing Seraphin against finese guys and playing Yi against power guys. It makes no sense.

I also want to see if Howard can continue to play well & lead us. I love watching him play and the way he fits with us. I also want to see Wall because he's starting to look like he did at the start of the year. Can he keep it up? Last but not least, I want to see if NY can keep it going 2 or 3 road games in a row. I want to see him matchup against Richardson, JJ, and Gil and get the best of them if possible.

Ill be watching for all those matchups either way. The same with Dray. Hasnt been perfect but starting to play solid. If we get skunked again it would be really dissapointing

Nevermind, no NY tonight which sucks. It takes alot of steam off of this game for me. Oh well, maybe we get to see the old Dray tonight
