Re: [Camelo Thread Part 18] - Al Iannazone (Nets Are Back Pg 77)
Wouldn't be surprised if Melo plays along and actually chats with Prokorov (if talks get serious), if nothing else, to put one last wave of pressure on Donnie.
The man wants his extension. All the leaks that he's "upset" with the Knicks, combined with all his quotes mentioning the extension... he has shown his hand. No waiting for FA.
Get it done Donnie/Dolan/Zeke!!

Dolon lost money under the I-hole and is making money with Walsh.
If Dolan fires Walsh, he's the biggest fool in professional sports. And he's gonna lose a lot of fans - like me. Enough is enough.
+1 im picketing in front of MSG, the Knicks practice facility, outside Dolans Home in westchester and setting up a Fire Isiah, I hate Dolan page on facebook and twitter
I'll go as far as to cancel my cablevision cable, online, and phone services and switch to Verizon even if that costs me double to do so!!
it'll be time to make sure Dolan's life is a living hell-hole

Nice try.
The biggest issue is that the Nuggets know Dolan is willing and obviously capable of forcing a Melo deal to happen. I don't think they are bluffing for Walsh. I think it's for Dolan.
dolan is gonna force it to happen, so is their owner though. soon these games will be all done and they'll be forced to work out a deal everyone can live with.
Hopefully, though we're the one with "all the pressure" to land Melo and the idiot owner.
Scary position.

Yes. I think it is obnoxious that some people here equate signing Melo with Walsh's survival to the degree that they certify that as a reasonable assumption whether it is true or not.
Let's be adults and put this into perspective because Walsh is an adult and deserves our respect.
Should anything come down to Dolan interceding or Dolan making Melo the prerequisite to extending Walsh, OK fine, then he's a moron owner.
But under no circumstances should anybody here wetting their panties imply that Walsh should compromise his professional judgment and integrity to satisfy your lust for a deal or to capitulate to any supposed ignorant notions held by an owner (which is still just hearsay and may be completely untrue).
DW will do what is the respectable action. If his authority is undermined, then he'll cross that bridge when the time comes. Until then, some of you need to stock up on Depends and quit worrying you namby pambys.

BTW, reading all these comments and the thread title makes the Nets sound like a really bad herpes sore that just won't go away days before a big date.

John Wallace, yes the former Knick, is here. He recently talked to Melo who said he wants to play for Knicks. "But then who doesn't" JW said

Do I think NJ is a threat right now, not right now....... but lets quit acting like we're fine with Melo going else where, 'he wants to put himself there, damn go ahead' ' we'll find our own way'.... no. Don't fool yourselves by taking the fact that some think it's a given that he'll come here, or that going to NJ means we'll be okay.... we need him badly.
good post...it'll be more mediocrtiy until the hope of 2012 fa

none of those guys make it to FA, it will be another Bidding War exactly a year from now. Except with a lot more competition, and higher bids...
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

Are people still really buying that Melo would even consider signing with the Nets and that Prokhorov would seriously waste his time, knowing that he'd never sign the extension there?
