that seems to be sort of what's on the table now and we're refusing. could end up a little better actually.

I love his M.O. of trying to ride the wave of other breaking news and come up with his own spin. Nets back in ... Bob: Knicks have decided they're out!

My wife is going on a business trip. Bob: Your wife has decided to divorce you!

The weather forecast calls for rain. Bob: It's going to rain really hard!

Etc., etc.

This guy is amusing but he needs a job. He's a news parasite.

If Denver wants to ask for the sun and the moon in negotiations then they can go ahead and make a trade with the Nets, enjoy their compensation and Carmelo can enjoy rotting in the swamps of New Jersey with Brook Lopez for a few years before rotting away in Brooklyn for the rest of his career. That's the way he wants it, after all. If he wanted it any other way he would have already said it.

Brilliant analysis.... this explains why he hasn't signed with Denver for all this time. He wants the money.....

oh wait a minute, that's all wrong.

Here's the deal, Ms. Cleo: Carmelo Anthony wants his money and he will sign that extension after the deadline with whoever he is with. It was cute for him to threaten not to sign it months ago but he also expected to be traded months ago. He's still there and the clock is ticking. He will not - NOT - walk away from that money. Not in a million years. Not even if he has to stay in Denver because of it.

I would put my d*ck in a guillotine if he signed an extension with Jersey.

Real talk.

At the end of the day you are guessing like everyone else. And that guessing turned fact is a sign of panic.

Agreed.

If at 2:59 next Thursday, proposed deal is that or Gallo, Chandler, Felton, Curry for Melo and Billups, you have to do it.

This whole time all we have heard is about this $65 million extension, even more so than actual rumors. If there was no looming lockout I would not be saying this. But now? With the risk he is facing? It would take big balls for him to go into free agency because he will undoubtedly be giving up money to do so. I don't think Carmelo Anthony is going to take a risk like that.

But hey, if he does, I'll be ecstatic.

Again, IF Denver wants all that then they have to satisfy Walsh's need to "have a team at the end of the day". That means being just a lil more creative than "gives me everything old man and I give you Melo". A deal can be reached if Ujiri actually had real GMing experience instead of being an over his head novice. There are guys on his team that realistically dont' factor into their future (in a post Melo scenario) that could fill in the "team" portion of Walsh's concern. Regardless of what this ultimately does for the Knicks, the Nuggets are likely going to get screwed by a junior GM way over his head.
