I don't see how it's a big deal since most of these guys do know each other off the court. Don't you guys watch football where two teams battle it out and then most guys are yukking it up together at that end of the game.
End of the game is fine. Before the game you should be focusing your mind on winning the battle.
Sportsmanship is easily shown at the end of a game with a quick/ firm handshake of respect.
The hugging is a bit much for me....it just looks odd. I don't even hug my best buddies......let alone workers from a rival company......
It would be kinda funny if Ironworkers & Welders all hugged each other goodbye at the end of a hard day at work.
Call me old fashioned.....that's why I respect players like Kobe & Perkins.....
