Demarcus Cousins

Post#1 » by BIG EDDIE » Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:03 pm

The guy has been looking great lately.
In his past 9 games he averaged 19.3 pts, 11.5 reb, 2.3 ast, 1 blk, 1.4stl, 3.9 TO and 46.5 FG% in 33 mins playing time.

Except the TOs those are all-star numbers.

You think we could make a move for him? This will sound ridiculous, but I started to play with the thought of trading Westbrook.
He is very good, dont get me wrong, but
1. His trade value would be huge at this point, so we could really get something good for him.
2. Sometimes I really prefer having Maynor on the PG position, he he just much more of a PG, sees the floor really well and coordinates the team good, does much less mistakes.

I could see Maynor as our starting PG and trading Westbrook for Cousins plus a second player, probably with a 3rd team involved. Or if not Cousins than a K.Love or another big.

What do you guys think?
Life may not be the party we hoped for but while we are here we might as well dance!

Terrible idea. Westbrook is an All Star player, and is still very young. Cousins has talent but he's a knuckle head, and he scores points on low efficiency.

Maynor is not in Westbrook's universe as a player or PG. I know sometimes when Russ has a rough stretch and Maynor comes in you feel like he's playing better, but he isn't. Maynor doesn't create
much offense for himself, and is far less dynamic.

Maynor makes less mistakes because he's asked to do much less. He doesn't look for his own shot, and his AST% is far lower than Westbrook's. Starting Maynor at PG would be like Atlanta starting Mike Bibby...

No way. Bad idea.

Trade Green, Aldrich, Krstic for
Cousins, Udrih

I do not like Udrih but to get the potintial of Cousins

Kings would add a lot of talent

Lol you guys should hang on the russel, maybe ask for reke, cousins and laundry for russel and harden if you want him that bad, but I wouldn't even do that.

Not at all... I understand your young desire... But Westbrook is a already made player, Cousins is a project.

I would trade Westbrook for likes of:

Nene + Ty Lawson(if Nene resigns Nuggets)
Marc Gasol + Conley + Mayo(if marc gasol resigns Grizzlies)
Lamar Odom + Bynum(ok, such scenario does not exist)
Dwight Howard(of course you would have to throw in picks, another good player, etc)
LaMarcus Aldridge
Nash + Grant Hill + Gortat(desperado mode)
Blake Griffin

The one person you don't trade is Westbrook. He is going to get a visit from Sammy either on July 1 or close to there (since we have the CBA issue) to let him we know we want him long term. Which is just what KD got. Hopefully he only asks for a deal Rondo received, and not a maxer.

You have zero chance of getting him because oustide of Durant & Westbrook wich you know your not trading them & thats more than understandable . The only player the Kings may really want if JEFF GREEN & GREEN is not nearly enough to land COUSINS .
You guys have a better chance at aquiring Daly for Collison , filler & a pick or possibly aquiring C.LANDRY for a 1st round pick . Something along those lines . I can 100% guarantee you outside of a deal way to hard to refuse Cousins will not be traded .
By the way I was not here to troll just looking at team boards trade rumors & came accross this one .
I love the youth of your team & how well they play . Wish my Kings were where you guys are at .

I think I'd trade Westbrook for a Curry + Lee package too.
]
Less athleticism and defense, but more IQ, rebounding and three pt shooting.

And Curry + Harden + Durant would be sick.
