I think you can understand that it's probability that is being discussed, not chance.

just because there are only two possible outcomes to something doesn't make the odds 50/50.

Terrible, just terrible! You clearly can't grasp the topic that was being discussed. The whole point of that rant was to show that probability can happen on any given night. In a game of win or lose, something has to give. Your example of aliens will invade tomorrow and it might happen or it might not happen is a fallacy and poorly constructed argument, because the probabilty and chance of that happening is close to none.

All of those things - either it will happen or wont... There is no third possible out come so if I get them right it wont be impressive?
