Place your bets!

Post#1 » by QuantumMacgyver » Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:52 pm

It might be fun to open a thread where everyone can post what they think will happen with the Jazz over the next week.

My prediction:

AK will be moved. Probably Troy Murphy + filler.
CJ will unfortunately still be around after the trade.
D-Will will have a sub-par All-Star showing(wrist).
The Jazz will either trade for a lesser known SG, or sign a D-Leaguer, who comes in and plays well above expectations.

Ultimately the Jazz sneak into the playoffs, and play a hard fought first round before being eliminated 4-1.

My second half regular season prediction is that the Jazz will finish #5 in the Western Conference. 1st round exit if it's the Lakers. 2nd round exit if it's the Thunder.

I think AK goes, CJ stays, Deron continues to be disgruntled, and we finish 9th in the west.

Kirlinko & Fess traded for a small forward and a bigman and jazz bring d Leaguer Guard up. Money difference puts jazz below 70 Mil. Jazz finish 7th in standings and upset the lakers in first round and lose to Oklahoma city in 2nd round

AK is traded for Murphy + filler; Murphy potentially bought out so he can sign with playoff team
Jeffers or similar is signed
CJ stays
Jazz miss playoffs (brutal last stretch of schedule dooms them)
Jefferson continues to beast

AK-47 traded to Nets for Murphy and Petro to save the Jazz some cash this year.
Memo and Miles to Mavericks for Butler (injured -expiring contract) & Beaubois which also saves cash

then Hello lottery!!!
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

No way this team is making the playoffs.

AK to Nets for crap crap crap. CJ and Fess continue our terrible bench production and aren't traded for inexplicable reasons.

AK exits speedily the from the Nets coaches office instead of the locker room after a heart-wrenching loss, prompting HolyToledo to speculate that China just challenged Russia to a land war in response to Masha and the kids being caught spying on the Chinese after getting in a gruesome vehicle accident in Beijing, despite being seen by several eye-witnesses at the Nets game only a half hour earlier jovially jumping around. WW3 ensues, and we all die horrible deaths.

Don't trade AK!

Williams, Kirilenko, Millsap and Jefferson is good enough of a core to be a playoff team, and not just a playoff team but a #5 playoff team in the West.

2 games behind the 5th seed and you guys think we're not good enough to be a playoff anymore? GTFO with that crap!!!

Looking at our recent record shows that we are on a destructive downward spiral. Injuries are popping up as usual with AK, as well as other key role players. If we had a healthy AK all season long, I would argue the same point you are, but he simply can't stay healthy long enough for us to be consistent enough to even make the playoffs. If this team catches fire, it's not going to be any time soon, because there are far too many injuries, and a far too worthless bench, to make it happen right now.

^^^Can't do anything about the injuries but I'd like to see the bench get upgraded somehow. Awful bench when Miles is the only guy who get score in double figures.

Kirilenko and Millsap are probably the valuable trading assets but I don't wanna see either guys go.

Out of all the deals they could make, AK moving would be the most probable...Would you rather keep him or watch him go for the likes of Troy Murphy?

I would honestly be happy if the Jazz got $ and a couple of picks. Bite the bullet with Hayward and watch him develop this season, instead of watching him develop next year (or the next year...lockout?)

The way he's been playing, it won't be too painful a process.

I highly doubt we'd get any draft picks in a Kirilenko deal. If anything, we'd be giving out a second rounder as an incentive to our trade partner for paying the difference between his contract and whoever we get back.

That or we take back contracts that extend into next season. For a team looking to make a splash in free agency this summer, taking on AK's contract to get rid of a few 2 year contracts might be enticing. Problem is this summer doesn't have such a great free agent class. Last year we would've gotten far better deals if he had been expiring then.

I don't think the jazz do anything. They stand pat and see how this team fares for the rest of the season. I think we will see the majority of changes this off season.

IF Melo surprises us all w/about face and says he'll sign extension w/Nets, Yahoo reports Nets would give up four first-rounders w/Favors

http://twitter.com/#!/STEIN_LINE_HQ/sta ... 6948127744
But sources told ESPN.com that Nuggets would not get all four firsts. At least one would be packaged with Troy Murphy to a TBD third team

http://twitter.com/#!/STEIN_LINE_HQ/sta ... 3229922304

Like everything else, this is purely speculation, but do you think the Jazz could be that ghost 3rd team? Wouldn't surprise me
