Please don't tell me you believe this.... This is pretty much the same offer the Net's turned down. Looks leaked to pressure Knicks to up their offer.

This trade made absolutely no sense for the nets before, and it won't now either

Carmelo itsn't that stupid to go to the nets he is not going to go to 17 win theam that has played 57 games already he is not going to waste his time. From today and until the allstar game his over where going to here millions of rumors this thing isn't going to get resolved by this weekend it is probally going to by tuesday night everything gets resolved. Another thing didn't billy king say those net players wanted to be there now he is lying to them he going back on his word and he told in front everybody how sorry he was to the players.

I don't know but apparently $65mil says Melo can see it.

It's the same $65 mill he will get from us if he says "No Nets"

Hey GONYK...ya know I luv ya but you are wrong....

OUR 65 million is different... it's better... it comes with a shot at a chip.

Well Denver, here is the cornerstone of your franchise!

Seriously I don't understand the hype with this guy.

yeah i dont get it. what has changed that the second deal (nj-det-den)cant be made again? why reinvent the wheel, i thought they had already agreed on the 3 way with det. why are they making a whole new deal now? makes no sense. this one is even worse for the nets than the last one.

Honestly, I look at it like this. If it's true. Good for Denver, good for NJ, good for Melo. Who cares. If it's false, then whatever, they won't deal with NY until next Mon/Tues anyway. So any rumors we hear are probably nonsense or highball/lowball offers. Again, who cares. I want Melo, but I want Melo at our price, otherwise he can take a hike. -Jitpal

Billy King also said the only player that doesn't want to be on the team is troy murph and he would trade him or buy him out.

Put on your clown hats geniuses. If the Nets did something that absurd, Melo would be on the team from Hell with nowhere to go but down. If he were such a punk to turn away from the Knicks now, then the best alternative is to watch him rot across the river on a perennial loser. If we don't get him, he can't really hurt us if he's stuck on a dog of a team in our division.

Guys Melo has it all figured out! He will go to NJ so when Brooklyn opens up he can literally seat every relative, friend and acquaintance he's ever known in the building to see all of his games

it does make sense that NJ would say this just to get us to lose more assets...thats about it, if NJ does that trade, all the more power to them, we cant match that...

LOL, actually, we are both wrong

Our 65 Mill comes with a shot at a chip, and $65 Mill more over the life of the contract.

Plus, you never have to live in Newark and your wife has a legit shot at being a star.

At $5 a ticket, he can afford to sell-out every home game and subsidize the franchise in the process. Hot dog sales will skyrocket! Brilliant!

But you can make plausible arguments about why any move would make sense to you in terms of how you believe it would impact Melo. Personally, I see little to gain for him to sign anywhere else now since him and Stat on a Walsh run team with more cap room and some good supporting players in New York City is pretty hard to top. But what we simply don't know is how important it is to him to know how much $ he is going to make or if he is willing to accept less or go to FA.

Here's what I think would be smart, but I'm in a very small minority. If I were Melo, I would think my best chance to join NY and win a championship is to do anything possible to see us retain our talent and join us as a FA. His earning power as a champion would result in all the endorsement money he could dream of. As the lead scorer (Amar'e can take a back seat) on a championship team in NYC, he'd earn far more over time than he would on an average playoff team. The key may simply be letting Denver choke on itself and walking to us via FA. But, hey, that's just me and my crazy ideas. But I don't have a clue what is in Melo's head and neither does anyone else.

Lovin your posts Clyde_Style. I'm in your minority all the way. Let's see how it plays out.

Please enforce those penalties.... no more "get it done donnie's" and everyone who doesn't post with an "IMO" or this is what I would do... should receive mandatory time outs.

Thanks. I'm trying to be strict. I had to handcuff Pharmcat to his 4-poster in his pink panties for 24 hours because they said Get it Donnie one time too many. If they do it again they will have to perform a lapdance for Mayor Bloomberg dressed up like Natalie Portman in Black Swan while humming the theme song from Bonanza at halfcourt during a home game at halftime. Let that be a warning to all of you.
