LA Lakers and Indiana Pacers have a blockbuster trade to announce!

LA Lakers Trade

Ronnie Brewer - $4,790,000

Indiana Pacers Trade

Dahntay Jones - $2,500,000
Solomon Jones - $1,500,000

= Total Outgoing = $4m (x 1.25 + $100k = $5.1m) - the deal works

Why for LA?

Dahntay has cracked the rotation recently in Indiana, he's a good defender, and to a certain extent is quite similar to Sefolosha. Whilst he's older and has less upside than Brewer, it's a lateral move in terms of win now talent and does save some money this and next season.

Pacers accept. We like the defense Brewer can add to the starting lineup. The Joneses did nothing for me...

Timberwolves trade: Mickael Pietrus($5,300,000),($5,300,000)
Hawks trade:Zaza Pachulia:($4,251,250), ($4,750,000), ($5,248,750)
$4,251,250x1.25=$5,314,062>$5,300,000

why for the T-wolves? Take on an extra year of salary, but Pietrus was expendable and while zaza isn't anything special, he's a solid big with good size and we lack great bigman depth.

Ronnie Brewer - $4,790,000
Kyle Korver - $5,000,000
Keith Bogans - $1,600,000
CJ Watson - $3,600,000

I've got a two-part deal.

#37

The Rockets send PG Ishmael Smith to Los Angeles under the minimum contract rule.

Rockets Receive:
PG Ty Lawson ($1,546,560)
SG Dahntay Jones ($2,500,000)
PF Somomon Jone ($1,500,000)
Outgoing: $5,546,560
Max Incoming: $7,033,200

Lakers Receive:
SF Trevor Ariza ($6,322,320)
2012 1st Round Pick (via Atlanta)
Outgoing: 6,322,320

#38

Rockets Receive:
SG Keith Bogans ($1,600,000)
SF Xavier Henry ($2,020,200)
Outgoing: $2,500,000

Lakers Receive:
SG Dahntay Jones ($2,500,000)
Outgoing: 2,454,389

Timberwolves Receive:
SG Courtney Lee ($1,352,640)
PF Joe Smith ($854,389)
2012 1st Round Pick (via Lakers)
Outgoing: $2,020,200

Rockets accept

In the first deal, we turn an excellent glue guy into another young point guard who could very well be our future PG. We get some more depth with Dahntay Jones and Solmomon Jones.

In the second deal, we improve our SG/SF position by upgradeing from Courtney Lee to Xavier Henry at the price of a first round pick. We also manage to improve our cap situation by acquiring Keith Bogans.

LA Accepts. We've been looking for a small forward for a while now and Ariza seems to be the only one that fits and is affordable. He's young, knows the system. In a reduced offensive role back in LA, he'll be able to focus on what he's good at - defending and hitting open shots.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Total Outgoing- $21,024,094

Detroit Trades- Ben Gordon($10,800,000), Tayshaun Prince($11,148,760), Ben Wallace($2,080,000).

$21,024,094x1.25+100,000=$26,380,117> $24,028,760
Deal works.

We accept, Gil hasn't been to good and we want to win now so no time to wait. Ben Gordon gives us some instant offence while Tayshaun is also a nice fit. Ben Wallace gets us the backup C we have been lacking.

Warspite (Detroit) has not accepted yet, nor has he posted a roster. please do not deal these players untill this is taken care of to avoid another Philly situation.

everything is fine with the deal, it just needs Det's acceptance (then 24 hours) and a Detroit roster

ATL and CHI have a trade to announce.

ATL outgoing:
Brandon Roy $13,603,750

CHI outgoing:
Ron Artest $6,322,320
Luke Walton $5,260,000

When Ron is on his game, he is a damn good defender and can hit the open 3 consistently. We really think that come playoff time he'll shine. Roy was nice, but his long contract and knee injuries scared me to much to keep him. Walton is a smart player that will come off the bench.

Accepted.
Reluctantly we accept this deal. We think its worth the risk even though we know we only may get 2 years out of Roy. Artest is nice, but hes getting worse and worse by the minute. Luke was dead weight as it was. Also, Roy will retire if things get REALLY bad, which would void his contract somehow. I think with him being my 6th man and not having to count on him to dominate will help alot. We hope our medical staff can have him playing 25 minutes a night. Will be happy with that. Good dealing B.I.
